    Hello,

I have a question. Does your Isky Catalog start from 1960 onward?

If you do have an Isky Catalog from 1960 or 61, I would like to see if there is a section on the original Isky Gilmer Belt Drive System for the SBC motor. It was new in 1960, but there may have been a later catalog to showcase the new drive components.

We just happened to get #2 but, it was a set that was given to our friend from Los Angeles from Edlebrock. The kits that were advertised later all came with Edlebrock manifolds. Once our friend got the complete kit, he called us to come and pick it up. Yikes! More power!

If you or anyone has a copy of that catalog showing the SBC model kit, I could send you some old copies of my drag racing films in digital format, not the You Tube versions.

  4. Damn $380 for the full kit. I'd like to order a few

Probably a month's (or more) pay for a lot of guys at the time.

  6. Anyone with access to a good machine shop should be able to get the bracket made for $ 100.00-$125.00. The original brackets were cast aluminum, but I would make one from aluminum plate stock.

    Hello,

Thank you. Our original Isky-Gilmer kit came out in very early 1960. It was yet to be stocked in the speed shop display cases all over So Cal. But, our friend had ties to Isky and Edlebrock to get one of the very first ones.

Thanks for the copies of the 61-62 catalog. It has all that was offered to the general public after we were up and running in B/Gas and then later in 1960, C/Gas class.

My filming was due to not having a driver's license when my brother started racing his 58 Impala in the fall of 1957. So, I was obligated to take movies of him racing. I just took other films between rounds of his performance tuning runs and eliminations. I was able to finally drive the Impala in a few races and then by the time we finished the 40 Willys with the 671 on the SBC motor, he did most of the driving. But I drove on several timing runs... it was something that will forever stay in my mind... WOW!

Check your HAMB conversation thread for further instructions... in a few minutes.
