    Of course

I still have my NWA CD I bought in 1989 or so. Eazy E, Ice Cube and a few other made me save my money to buy a real Impala, I ended up with a 62 I still own .I never could afford a rag top though. Great to see you´re still cr
    uising your 64:cool::)

You gonna be in it at Lloydfest 2024?

Gonna stop by here on your way?

  8. Well here’s an update I suppose, so far if you are keeping track I hit a deer with my Fargo last fall, I’ve been knee deep in a Barracuda project which is mostly finished. So I finally had some time to drive the big Chrysler to work.

    Yup you guessed it…another deer….

  9. That was last Wednesday on the way home from work. Got to work this weekend after pouting for a couple days.
IMG_5605.jpeg IMG_5606.jpeg Starting pulling it apart. Luckily I got a four door parts car with it when I bought it.

    IMG_5609.jpeg IMG_5610.jpeg
Straightened out the front fender and mocked up some parts.

  10. IMG_5619.jpeg IMG_5618.jpeg IMG_5617.jpeg IMG_5614.jpeg
ready for bodywork, I can hide the tape line between the chrome, I’m not painting the whole
    fender.

The hood took the brunt of it.
    IMG_5615.jpeg
After evaluating the two hoods I had I came up with a plan.

  11. Cut the front part of the inner support out of the parts car hood, it was rusty around the hinges. This seemed easier… IMG_5620.jpeg IMG_5618.jpeg Welded it with my flux core 110 welder just to prove you could…nope, ran out of mig gas and was too lazy to go to town.
Put the hood back on the car and it actually fits. IMG_5621.jpeg IMG_5622.jpeg The bodywork on the fender is done, I’ll pull the hood back off and touch up some bodywork on it then prime it and the front of the fender, paint them and back on the road it goes…

Man, that’s tough. :( Glad you have a parts car to get it fixed.

    Ouch! Stupid deer.

  14. Let’s see, build plan, check, vehicle of choice, check, color of choice, check, insanity defense in case it all goes wrong, check. Carry on.

  15. Dang, I’m sorry that happened. Deer suck, Little Truckdoctor and I hit one on one of our Harleys earlier this year. I’m still working on repairing the damage, you are farther along than I am. You do very nice work. Nice looking Chrysler.

That really sucks. Fortunately you have the parts and skill to make necessary repairs. If that happened to me 'd just have to shell out a small fortune for someone else to fix it.

About 25 (+/-) years ago I and several buddies took some evening adult education bodywork classes. What I learned is that I'm REALLY bad at bodywork and really hate it.

Body work is done, it’s in primer now. Forgot to take pictures, I’ll have paint on it this week sometime, should be back together next weekend.

Talked to the guy I bought the car from he has a few more ‘64’s, going to buy another one for parts, just in case.:)

  18. I’m self taught when it comes to bodywork, I couldn’t afford to pay someone to do it when I was young and now I’m too cheap and impatient.

Awesome work! On a modern car, they would have likely written it off with airbags and all.
Years ago, one of my wife’s aunt and uncle were on their way to the airport in Ottawa to head south to the Dominican, hit a deer on the way, or should I say deer ran into side of car. Kept going, then realized at airport they couldn’t open the door. Lol!

I only like to see deer when I have a Winchester and in season.
Heck, in all my years in Ca I’ve never seen one run out in front of me.
Even at the “deer crossing” signs. :)

  22. They are everywhere here, I’ve almost hit them in town, they aren’t afraid of the noise or people, this one, thankfully, was a little one.

Deer are just about everywhere here now. The Missouri Conservation Commission has done a more than adequate job of repopulating MO with them. When I was a teenager in the 60's if someone saw a deer it was a great topic of conservation. Now if I don't see one on the way to town (I live in the boonies) it's a topic of conservation. Around here we slow down when the sun goes down. I'm not sure that I know any families who haven't had at least one "deer incident."

Great job of rehabbing the Chrysler @57 Fargo.

I’ve lost 3 cars to deer in the last 10 years. One was a block and a half from home!

Reminds me of a person who complained that the deer crossing sign on one road was in a bad/dangerous place, and that the town should move the sign to a place where it would be safer for the deer to cross.
