on that one 36 there, no i cant spare any of those grills. i think i got a 37 cab with no doors. what a dumb ass this guy was shit everywhere, cherry 34 grill sittin out in the rain, and its gonna be part of this restoration project. i couldnt get the guy to put a price on anything. he was like you can find this stuff at swap meets and i would say are ya willin to sell this by part or whole.and get a split tooth funny look. well fuck him i cant stand a bullshiter who just lets this stuff rot. hes in mount ida arkansas, steve goodner. try your luck, i think if ya track him down and wanted onr thing like a fender or something ya might be able to get it, but every thing i mentioned was part of future restoration. this dream just toke a shit like i expected, i will post some more pics when i get time. Bones
To bad about the '36 and parts, We've all come across these people that are going to "restore" some car, twenty years later it's not moved and in worse condition.
We had a guy like that out here. He had alot of nice stuff, and would rarely sell. If he did he wanted 2 arms and 3 legs for the shit. He was in an area where the big wildfires last year went through. All his shit burned up. Just a yard full of rusty carcasses. I hate to see that happen to old cars, but sometimes that Karma gets you in the end..
write down their name and address- THEN WAIT-and buy it all at the estate sale for 10 cents on the dollar.
A friend of mine tried to buy a 32 5 window from a junkyard back in the seventies....the same old story-gonna fix it up someday....soooooo....he finally went back at nite and stole the doors off it....waited a couple months and asked again if it was for sale....SURE!!!!!(some rotten bastard stole the fuckin doors) ...(kids don't try this at home!!)
You do what you have to do sometimes. There's a idiot around here .Worked his whole life at Anheiser Bush ,buying cars and parts. He has a barn out back filled with cars. There's a 39 with the nose sticking out of the barn. The nose is rusting away but the part in the barn is pristine. He has a couple of chopped Merc's in the front with the lead pealing off from sitting in the sun for years. He has a fuckin' Barris Custom rotting in his front yard."Nope ,dae' ain't fer sale on a count of I'm gonna fix em' up one day" Fucking Moron.
Have one like that here, too. Has a couple of old truck I'd love to have. I've watch them sit in the same place for 30 years.

[/ QUOTE ] Oh GOD...you had me going there for a minute.I go to Hershey every year with a guy that works for A-B.!!!!Has a couple of DOZEN projects he is going to restore when he retires....... FORTUNATELY,he has enough sense to hide his shit UNDER ROOF!!!
I hear ya! It IS hard not to get your hopes up especially when it's vintage tin! Guys like him should be shot at with a ball of their own shit! Hang in there 'cuz like my Mom used to say, " Something better will come along". Regards, Dave.
Estate sale? sheeyut, probably just gonna get trashed or crushed or scrapped. Makes the otherwise despicable act of burglary almost palatable...
Man there's alot of people like that here. You would think that these fuckers would sell it to you! thier never going to do anything with it!!!!!! Damn, oh well. You know, you can just bug the hell out of him..................
There is a old guy I used to work with who has a 1932 3W Ford, a 1940 Ford standard coupe, a 1949 Mercury Convertible he bought NEW, a 56 T-Bird he bought new, a 66 Fairlane big block he got new.......and a coupleFord trucks...all he bought new. Will not sell any of them. At least they are all inside the barn. He is 75 and has plenty of money and land...so Ca$H flash does not work with him. I got a few 32 pieces off of him a few weeks back.....so I am hoping to buy the 32.....but have been trying since 1972....... He is a good fellow and he may live another 20 years...his Dad was 95 when he died in a car wreck....not his fault either.
some one should say to one of these morons who is OBVIOUSLY not going to anything with this shit "do you HONESTLY think your really going to do anything with this shit other than let it rot and become completely worthless?" " how long have you had this shit? ..and you have'nt touched it yet. COME ON!!" you gotta shit or get off the good old tin ya pot head!!!
I went to look at a Falcon a guy had for sale a few years ago and he had a bunch of cars in his warehouse. One of them was a 64 Falcon Sprint convertible. He had tried to buy the car when it was in good solid shape, but they were "going to restore it". They called him up years later and said he could buy the car. When he went to pick it up, it was covered in vines and surrounded by tall grass and weeds. The car is so rusty, it is barely usable as a parts car. It sucks that some people will sit on a perfectly good old car until it is totally useless.
Even worse, I've had cars that I left notes on, talked to the owners, etc. Offered good $$ for. Car sits, leave more notes, talk more, still.. I'm gonna fix it... So the car's gone and where is it?? In the Fucking pick yard that pays only 40 bucks for a car... A 69 Torino convert, a 59 Ford Galaxie, and a 59 Delivery... I felt like kicking their asses! But you know what, its their car and if they want to do a Mexican hat dance on it every day, its up to them.. I know there will be a day when I get one...more

What a fuckin prick, tnen his wife comes out and starts cussin me out, for what? I was standin on the road takin afew pictures of all his shit, and he mossyed out of the house and started talkin with me(real nice old man probably 75-80), till I mentioned sellin them. Fuck I thought I or he was gonna get shot buy my cousin who is sittin the fuckin truck with a damn shot gun pointed in our direction. Cops were called and I left, long story short horders suck! -Jesse

The Barris car is a 40 Ford green with scallops. It has the Barris shields on the fenders. This car is sitting in his driveway outside.I need to go back with a camera and take some pics,This guy is unbeleavable.
For many HORDERS it seems that these scenarios are the only way they get attention in their pitiful lives. They have absolutely nothing, except a car some young(er) guy wants. Just tell that old lazy fucker "look, I am gonna have this car, so sell it to me now and take the cash, or I am going to get it when your dead and buried...your choice". yeah whatever- I'm all talk.
One of the pleasures of living in this country is that when we buy something,it's ours.Whether we want to drive the wheels off it;restore it;rod it;enjoy the memories of it,thats our right. I'e played with old cars for 40 years and it's only been in the last ten that I've had my own crusher to terminate them if I hear too much B.S.That's my right.Lighten up;buy the ones that are for sale and if you can't afford it,buy a affordable car.Must of ya'll only keep a car only long enough to turn it.I've saved more unsaveable cars than most of you've owned and anything can be saved or built from pieces. It takes WORK,not whining.
Thats nice Hagar, nobodys talkin about turnin cars around as soon as they get them. Talkin about people keepin shit never gonna use it, ends up gettin sold for scrap or get crushed. It's a sad reality that most of those rusty old cars that you see along the road will meet a similar demise. People whop hoard is what makes it hard for people get in to this shit, makes things pricy or just plain hard to get. It's almost impossible for say a high schooler to go out and build a cool rod, just to damn expensive, I tried doin it but traded all my shit off for Harley parts(cause thats my first love). So shut the fuck up, we talking about horders. -Jesse
The dude is keeping it for a future restoration?..... Well, help him out a little. Take him an itemized list of parts complete with prices and don't forget the cost of labor. Have a big fat total at the bottom of the list in big RED numbers. Show it to him and then ask if he has the cash to actually do a restoration. If he starts to get mouthy..... .....whip out a knife and cut his balls off. pin 'um to your hat and then ask him how he feels about his precious fucking projects..... Say, Now you got NO money and NO balls.....RETARD...... ha haha. (and stay the hell away from my stash....you ball chopping sicko...)
