It's a lot warmer that 50 today in TX.. but I get not hooking up the coolant lines, it's hot way more often here than cold.
Great pictures. Engine looks killer. You’re spoiled. Check to see if your choke is not partially closing during take off. Blown power valves do that too. But it sounds like Keith has replaced that but even one backfire can ruin them.
he has stromberg 97's, the power valves are mechanical, you can't blow them out. they are activated at about half ot so throttle when the acc pump makes contact with the plunger in the power valve. @Ryan may need 1 or 2 numbers fatter jets
i just watched a sweet sickness again, not really the way i wanted to spend my day off, damn you ryan. oh well, it rained most of the day anyway. remember, be kind, please rewind
@Ryan Brilliant chase over a period of time, to get the particular lens, that you were searching for, and then to use it in a very artistic manner. I am sure that the ghost of Ansel Adam's, is smiling in another universe !
What a coincidence with those heads being made in Canada as I was made in Canada too! Beautiful shots by the way. I still have my dad's double reflex camera from the late forties, my Mom's single from the fifties, my old Nikon FE, and a handful of smaller Instamatic and Polaroid stuff lying around. However I usually use my phone or another digital device which is just being economical and lazy so hat's off to you. there is just something about film that makes the image feel more real to my way of thinking... How heavy is you new lens?
yeah… I’m not a photographer. Not even close… BUT, if I use really expensive old cameras, I do a pretty convincing job of fooling people. The lens is heavy. Too heavy. And with 35mm, I’m only using a fraction of the glass. The idea is that if this test lens creates images worth a shit, my buddy is gonna cut the glass down and rebody the package in something more appropriate for an m-camera. He’s really, really good… and loves old shit.
Great story and great pics! I am covetous of a set of those Canadian heads having been born in Canada. Eh!
Great photos and the beautiful engine I never had good luck with that style intake But it’s so cool awesome all around
Thanks for sharing. Remarkably special Somebody rubbed on those heads for a while. Very nice. Here's to gettin' 'er runnin' smooth. Let us know when you do.
great photos Ryan! It's fun playing with old photo equipment. I have a Japenese WWII era aerial camera. It's a Konishiroku ( turned into Konika) GSK 99. Square format on 120 film. I've only used it once. The focus is fixed, so anything closer than a couple thousand feet, I guess, is soft focus. Cheap lenses can be fun too. I made the adapter on the Quantray fish-eye lens in the first photo, so I could screw it onto the lens on my dslr. The second photo was taken with it. Some day I'll make an adapter for the big brass French lens too. It uses Waterhouse stops for changing the aperture size. I made the one that is with it in the third photo, but I need to make a set.
