It can happen to you......break in.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Stevie G, Jul 21, 2005.

  1. Our shop got his this last week.
*******s got every air tool in the place, a full roll around and two top boxes.
No cars or parts were messed with.
Bottom line, If you are waiting for a part....it's coming.
If you are waiting for cash....my apologies....I had to buy new tools.
Spent the last week bolting everything to the walls or floor and reinforcing boxes and locks.

WHAT A PAIN IN THE ***!!!

make sure you visit the pawn shops. You'll find your stuff. I often wonder if the pawn shops didn't exist - then maybe people wouldn't steal ****. Why do we set up a venue for them to get revenue. It makes no sense.

  7. Hate that this happened to ya' :(.

Let's hope those thieving *******s plug that POS Chinese grinder in that you bought from me and it explodes in their focking face.

  8. the only thing I had of my grandfathers was a nice roll around from when he was a GM mechanic at the old Van Nuys plant/dealership. he died when i was very young but left a very lasting impresion on me (got me into getting greasy at a very early age). I had the box in my garage and some ****ing low life pried open the garage door and took the whole ****ing thing...

What really bummed me out was that was all that he had left after multiple years of being sick and that was all he left behind to his family (who gave the stuff to me).

I hate ****in thieves....Check the pawn shops and local swap meets and recycler adds...some numb nuts is going to sell the **** off for cheap...Call the cops but they ain't going to help a "victimless crime"...If you find your **** take it back by whatever means necessary...

My son was taken at gunpoint and kept in a closet for 14 hrs. while the &*#$@** stole everything he owned. Police lieutenant was doing son's ex (who set it up), he made the reports to look like son was at fault. Allstate Insurance will not pay anything even though thieves got over $70,000 tools and electronics. They sure wanted their premium payments though. Insurance companies, cops etc. are all rotten....

Be sure to check the Atlanta Advertiser too. I loved that rag.

Sorry bout your losses, all of you. Someone stole my pet turtle once, no lie.

  16. Top this.

My mother belongs to a local (religious affiliation) church. Last weekend burglers made off with 3 computers.

Stealing from a church. That's pretty low. Only junkies steal from churches. Junkies with no self esteem.

Methodist, in case you were wondering.

I got the garage break-in last year. Took off with my broken compressor, my welder, a brand new bench grinder, a stereo, and a bunch of air tools. The best part is that they took my broken compressor - they walked past a small compressor that was plugged in and had air tools running to a car I was working on to get the bigger, dusty upright compressor in the corner. I mean - they had to be real stupid to do that. The cops didn't do **** for me, I now have 2 more dogs (ALWAYS a dog in the yard by the garage)...

This is why all my stuff is engraved, most people would do it where it's easily seen, but in my opinion it's better to kind of hide it so the thieves don't just toss the whole kit and kaboodle in the river...

Scenario: thief breaks in, steals my tools, tries to pawn them. Pawn broker may not see the identifying marks yet, but when the police alert arrives, they will know. Pawn shops do have insurance to cover losses in the event of stolen merchandise being confi****ed, so the pawn broker gets his money, the name and address of the ******* who pawned said items are handed over to the police, and then it's in the courts' hands.

Yeah, sometimes these offspring of rabid female dogs in heat get off too easy, but, every little bit helps.

I have been the victim of thieves lately too....story in another post...

  22. It happened to me too....back in '87. I lost $6,600 worth of tools and equipment. "Insurance" covered about 2/3 so I ended up with a $2,200 loss. Still haven't fully recovered.

I now have 2 alarm systems. The first one doesn't let the ***holes know that I know that they're there. Gives me time to grab the gun and meet them as they attempt to leave.

If you have time to call the cops, tell them to bring body bags. They get there much quicker !

  23. Down here or in GA?

If you find them before the cops do, try not to leave any fingerprints or DNA... tech from watching too much CSI.

  28. Well the good news is....this lit a fire under the Landlords **** to get new doors put on.
We are pretty sure we know who did it.
Now we just have to wait and see if the cops can get them.

dogs are the best as far as i am concerned, but any pro thief can get by anything (locks, alarms, dogs...ect) So i just focus on the junkies and dogs work for that.
