Sold it, went to a really nice couple in Lawrence Ks. I'm playing with a 36 5 window coupe but not sure if I'll be ready to drive it to Austin, might ride with one of the guys. Gary

The motor I took out had the right pan on it, the truck pan, to clear the steering arms. the new Merc motor has the stock pan on it which clears the steering but I didn't notice the front was that much different till it was in the car:( There is only about an inch clearance now where there was 3+ before. just need to swap pans. Thanks

    Got ya
I went threw the same thing on my car.
That Merc pan w the tray inside is way deep in the front and the truck pan isn’t much better.
People have told me of spacing the front of the motor up but I went a different way.
Let me know if you want more info on that …. Probably easier to do the truck pan and space up if need be.

Thanks, yes the truck pan was on the old motor and worked perfect. I just was so worried about the rear clearing the suspension that I didn't look at the front till I got it in. I raised the motor up a little but it won't be enough. Just my stupidity for not looking at it closer
