    Hey Moose,
Nice premise. IF a lottery were to be won, there would certainly be an extensive list for dispersal. What good is it to store away for later use, we are on the last 1/3 of our wonderful lifeline. We recently saw a cool 1965 Chevelle, 2 door, station wagon for sale and put it on our list, but, way down the list for now. The extra windfall would make it come to the top of the list, especially for being able to move larger things in the back compartment.

Our extended family has a lot of things going for it. There are plenty of people that need some help along the way. College is not for everyone. Being happy at what you are doing, want to do or reaching for a goal to get things done is what should be important in one’s lives. College is/was a place that gave you additional years to figure out what you might want to do in the future. But, there are plenty of other ways to find out what you are good at doing and reaching those goals.

Of course, everyone in the extended family would be taken care of in one way or another. Then investments to continue the goal of helping someone find their way in this complicated life line of our society. Direct involvement seems a better way than contributing to a charity or two. You never know how your donation is being used.

The family is a myriad of lifestyles and situations. But, in some way or another, we would help out where needed and there is a definite need. There are enough worries in all families and with the extra income, most would be addressed in good time. On the positive side, our local schools would get the larger portion of donations for extended scholarships to vocational training or college or ??? Again, someone's future would be guaranteed for improving and contributing to society in one way or another.

When the California lottery events started way back in the beginning, a local high school graduate won a $20 million dollar jackpot. The winnings spread over 2o years set that family up for future wishes. They bought a small store and were happy designing/running that business with the winnings. The future was planned and carried out to its simplest terms. There was no, 20000 sq ft house, no flock of cars in a 30 car garage, one car for each day's driving, etc.

But, the question would remain, would this big influx of income change us for good or bad? Nah… we have been a very low key couple, staying out of the limelight since we have been together since 1966. Someone joked that we seem like a “WITSEC” couple. Ha ha! (The United States Federal Witness Protection Program, also known as the Witness Security Program or WITSEC. This is a witness protection program administered by the United States Department of Justice and operated by the United States Marshals Service that is designed to protect threatened witnesses…)

We like our individual lifestyle with what we have. Currently, there are no wants or wishes. Maybe after winning, it would be time to disappear to our own, 1000 acre property on an isolated island!!! WITSEC, here we come, to drive a different hot rod or cruiser each day on our own, winding, forested, island roads with coastal views all over. (included would be a built-in 3 mile stretch of straight road for those full horsepower runs, etc.) The 30 cars would be similar to those in the Price Transfer Automobilia collection in So Cal. No sporty types, just plain, cool, hot rods and those old fast cruisers. Ha...great idea.

Kids college or whatever they decided to do would be paid for, Buy a ranch in a small town, set up a nice 40x75 shop, small house, few old tractors to keep up with the maintenance, 1 or 2 model AA to haul stuff around the ranch, a duce and a half for major moving things, build a few cars a year to sell, and set my friends up with paid off houses or vehicles and never tell them who did it. Id probably work part time till the building and ranch were up and going, tour the country and be the same man I am today. Probably tip good waitstaff very well wherever i went. Build some vehicles for charity or those who are struggling but would say the funds came from a foundation so it couldn't be tied to me. End of the day Id still be my somewhat grumpy ass, but wouldn't tell a soul what I had.

But hell that is all a dream and its back to reality time!

  5. I happen to know a local guy that hit the lottery in Georgia, I believe it was for 26 Million and he continued to work his job until he retired a few years later, he told millionaire he could drink better whisky.

He has a home here on the lake and a large farm in Georgia, basically he is the same old guy, he really hasn't changed, still runs with the same crowd and not looking for any new friends. HRP

I'd start by paying off my daughter's student loans, then pay off my son's house. I like where I live, and I can live with my current shop. A bigger shop would indicate I wanted to work more, which is not the case. Somewhere along the way I would have to build a new car, I don't think the old coupe could handle the miles we would be putting on it. I wonder what it would be like just to order the new parts I'd want to build it with, rather then trying to save some old rusty crap.

Road trips for sure! There are a lot of places in the USA I would like to visit. My wife and I would just go. We are both retired, so it would just be a matter of deciding where to go first.
There are a few charities that would benefit nicely. There are a few relatives that would also benefit, but anomalously. Gene

  8. There's a little $50,000 27 T in the classifieds. It was built by Boyd but it's not a billit riddled street rod. Has a 283 in it and it's cute as a bug's ear and really put together well. I'd buy it.
I'd have the body work and paint done on my 34 coupe and have my old friend, Tracy Weaver [Recovery Room] put a nice, comfortable interior in it too. I'd also buy a great fat fender pickup truck to beat around in.

First I would pay off any and all bills, then I would ask the better half to make it legal. She is an accountant and much better with money, so I know she would protect me from myself. Then put heat in the garage.

That is exactly how I see it and is why I don't buy lottery tickets. I am busy enough already being who I am now !

Enclose my carport, install a lift, build something with a Cammer and 4 speed in it and drive the hell out of it.

If I won the money, I would do something I’ve always wanted to do. When I go into a restaurant sometimes I get a waitress that you can just tell, that she’s a single mother, probably married some asshole, working two shifts, just plum wore out and still broke. If I was made of money I would like to leave a huge tip, say a couple hundred or more.
