I started my engine for the first time today. I finally got everything finished a couple of days ago and couldn't get it to fire to save my neck. So I'm trying to think how to work out what is wrong. This is a EFI set up so I couldn't go about it the way I have in the past. I'm trying to think is my homemade bracket for crankshaft timing wrong, did I screw up when reworking the engine harness, am I even getting gas from the tank. I just groaned when I thought I was going to have to go back through everything I had done. I finally pulled a plug and realized it was firing away, checked the injectors with a test light and they were firing. It finally dawned on me the injectors were stuck, they had been out of a running engine for almost 5 years. A twenty dollar kit and some cleaner and it's ripping off like a bad boy, no mufflers lol. Man I'm so happy with my project, 5.0 efi engine, 4R70W transmission and explorer 3.73 traction lock rearend, life is good. Ralph
Congratulations Ralph, man I am happy for ya! You beat yourself up and then outta the blue one day you have success and then all the hard work is worth it! HRP
Greatest feeling in the world when all of your hard work pays off like that. Great job. Would love to see a video of it running.
If I had known I was going to do a video I would have cleaned up the junkyard parts better and covered things up better while I was painting.
Congratulations, hear that engine fire up and run as good as it does I know you are fired up to that that first shake down ride,,remember to do***ent that also. HRP
