---------------- You should have asked them if they've ever heard of "NAFTA" -ie - the 'North American Free Trade Agreement'. Under NAFTA, there are no longer any "customs duties" on Canadian goods entering the U.S or on U.S. goods entering Canada. Anybody who is charging you "Customs duties" is a fraud artist and a thief....and they are simply pocketing the money themselves. If you are in the U.S and a shipper tries billing you for "Customs Duties" on parts coming from Canada, you should contact your Congressman and file a complaint and ask him to investigate the company charging you "duties". also, since NAFTA is an international treaty signed and ratified by the U.S government - and thus making it a federal law, maybe the F.B.I would be interested in launching a fraud investigation too. I wonder how many millions of dollars U.P.S. and other systers have pocketed over the last several years charging non-existent import duties on shipments from Canada? Vendors are you listening? Lots of us won't buy if you ship UPS only. I try to avoid it at all costs, even to a point where I won't buy. That's lost sales to the vendors.
