Hackerbill, if it makes you feel better, most of those holes were probably shot into the body in the 50s. I know my father (NOT a car guy) used to tell me about he and his brothers shooting up the old farm vehicles on his grandparents farm in Vermont.
True enough... I guess its the "Not a car guy" observation that says it all! Still...the damage they did just makes it even more of a survivor. Seeing it back on the road after all its been thru is the definition of COOL. Incredible. Man...if cars have a soul, that one must be jumpin' up and down like a little puppy! Great stuff! Bill
[ QUOTE ] Still...the damage they did just makes it even more of a survivor. [/ QUOTE ] Thats true. This one had it all. It had the cut outs for the makeshift P/U bed like they used to do. It had the water line from when it was laying in a wash somewhere, with most of the bullit holes above that line and most of the rust under it. And going by the damage to the roof it has been upside down at some point. Probably when people were robbing parts of it after it was abandoned, because it was tweaked not crushed. And then it was chopped wrong. It will take us a long time to repair it all, but first we wanted to do what we had to, to make it driveble again. And funny enough, this is basicly the same car that Ron was driving when it had the Model A body, but it feels more solid somehow. Maybe cars do have a soul...
