I figured that would be a huge job to fix. Glad to see you guys figured it out, there were alot of great old threads that needed this fix.
When I decided to do the format change, it's really the one thing I overlooked as I don't use the galleries in a way that a lot of guys do. Meaning, I don't post to my galleries first and then to a thread - which is actually a pretty reasonable thing to do. Anyhow, by over looking this method and those links I caused about 25,000 broken links. Typically, there are import scripts for things like this, but there wasn't one in my case as our galleries in the old format were completely custom coded. So, we had to make our own script... and it took about four or five tries to get it right... and even then, there were over 5,000 broken images that had to be fixed manually for one reason or another. All told, it took over 500 man hours to fix it all. No*****. But it had to be done.
Being barely computer literate, I can only imagine what kind of work that took, but thanks! Now I only have one other request - its about the Watched Threads file. Way back when, you could separate the threads into sub-categories, such as RPU pictures, or Ford brake info, and so on. Right now, they're all lumped together. The other day, I was trying to locate a thread on RPU cab dimensions to answer someone's request for info. I finally had to give up digging through my saved stuff and get back to work. It would speed up my cyber-slacking if I could locate this stuff faster. Thanks for making this place what it is, K6.
Thanks for the effort , Ryan ! I went through and re-linked all my pics a couple months ago ... That was a giant pain in the**** , but i'm sure nothing like figuring out the glitch and fixing the whole site ! Thanks again.
