ive finally finished college and found a good job... now that the boring **** is outta the way i can start with my dreams. since i was 17/18 i wanted an old school hotrod, and thanks to unclescooby i now have one. he hooked me up with a '51 ford. fairly rough, no engine or trans, but its a start and i wanted to do the work. im gonna start a build post soon, mainly to get advice from all the old timers, but also for guys who are starting out in my same position. my plans for the car are to chop 4.5 in the front, 5.5 in the back and flip the rear window. channel the body over the frame, airbag it, shave the handles, french the lights, and put in some ford meteor parts for the front grill. im also picking up a 4.5 foot pool in naperville so that i can try out this electrolysis process that i studied on the H.A.M.B.(thanks CharlieLed) that should be fun to watch, and ill take videos of me dipping the solid body of the car-minus front fenders if anyone knows some alliance members who sell front fender patch panels, rockers, or floor boards, i'd rather use them than anyone else. and if they're near chicago even the better. thanks guys for make this an awesome forum
Keep your build simple and get it on the road. This is a lesson I have learned as I approach my dirt nap.
