Finally fired the slant up this weekend! It sounds just like what it is, a stock motor with headers. Seems to run fine with the two two bbl. carbs on it. I did not get a chance to fine tune as I developed a split in the radiator and had to shut it down. Hopefully later on this week, depending on work, I'll get the chance to fine tune and see what she will do. Got to get the driveshaft made and then we can run it down the road and see what happens.
You read too fast, I have 2 two bbls on it! I will probably leave both on there, they flow 280cfm each and that equals 560cfm with both of them running all the time. I was worried that the stock motor would not run very well with two of them on there. What little bit of running I did, before the radiator blew, it seemed to take both of them pretty good. It did not hesitate or bog revving it up, which surprised me. It may be different story when I put a load on it though.
Lets see some pics ?? BTW i have a used ( but good) Comp Camshaft for a slant six. We just upgraded the camshaft ( more lift ) in our "Krylon Car". I will donate it to the slant six cause if you want it. I also have a set of used headers etc.
I'm at work and can not post any pics right now. Do you have any idea what lift cam you had? When I start on the "race" motor, I plan on using one with around .610 lift. I'm gonna race this one as is, and build the motor as I go. I'm a one man team right now, a lot of the parts have been donated by friends, but I am the only one working on it. It will probably be a year before the other motor is ready to go in. I do have some pics posted on Greg's post, probably the first or second one on this forum.
Got off work on time, forgot today was a holiday for some, and it was for my radiator man. So it will be tomorrow before I can start it up and fine tune. Here are some pics.
