I've been diggin' through some old pix and came across one of my dad's first hot rods. The pix were taken in 1973 and '74... Dad did everything from channeling the car to the bodywork and paint. The front seat is where I cut my teeth (literally) and made my first motor noises. THANKS DAD!!!!
...your pops started you off right, my old man got me started on the two wheeled hot rods about the same time, all my early pics have us out at the motorcross track. One of my first shirts that I remember had "I eat, sleep, live, love and ride motorcycles"....did you get cool old hotrod iron on's???? Man those were the days. Great Memories for sure!
Cool pics! Your pop and I must be close to the same age. Boy I couldnt remember ever seeing cars available like that in North eastern ohio during those years. Thanks for sharing.
Yup, your dad is as cool as they get Shawn. I have some pics of Race standing next to one of myt cars when he was about the same age, cool stuff.
Thanks guys....and yes this was all before dad's louver period!!!! Hey Rudy, scan those pix of Race and post 'em!!!! The car is long gone. It was sold to fund a two door sedan project when my sister came along. Many have come and gone... Attached is a pic of dad's latest taken by KIRK at Goodguy Columbus. Sittin' here waiting on my first youngin' to be born, I hope I do half the job dad has....both in the car hobby and life in general! Okay, I'm done being sappy..... Post Some pix of your earliest hot rod memories!!!!
Great pics! I have my dad to thank for this "sickness" as well... and I honestly can't thank him enough. Since ya asked for it... heres a pic of me and my pop working on a chopper (yes, I'm sure I was an enormous help) - two decades ago. Not a hot rod... but still kind of a neat pic, I think!
I'll have to do some digging for a picture, but I know the old man has one of me sitting inside an engine block when I was a tiny tot! Yup, thanks dad for this disease you've passed along to me. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Excellent pic, scooter parts in the living room, 'cause it's too damn cold in the garage. Crankcase, jugs and tranny case in the dishwasher. Too funny.
Like someone said: priceless pix. In my case it was my older brother that got me into V8's ! Living in the land of four bangers at the time (Sweden) that was huge ! He took me for a ride in a 4 speed Mustang, and that was it ...been messed up ever since...
