    On the job we often refer to a locomotive as the "motor", of course our "motors" have four axles, each with an electric propulsion motor (which double as generators at times to provide extra braking power), a 4200 horsepower diesel (as long or longer than most peoples cars) driving a generator (THE POWER PLANT), and a 600 HP diesel powered genset to provide 440 volt electricity to power everything else not related to propulsion on the train set and the locomotive. If the term works for the HOGHEAD in reference to the diesel or the locomotive, who am I to argue.

    the swedish word for engine is ... motor aswell as motor is referd as motor
    so we don't have to argue over it at all here in sweden :)
