That thing scoots along really well, very cool video. I watched it the other day, and I had to come back and watch it again!

    Good for you!!

  12. Much appreciate all the interest and comments - thanks! Part of the reason I posted this is sometimes we all need a little inspiration to push through on a project and get it done and on the road. It is easy to forget (especially after a few years) what it is like to drive one of these - and the joy they can bring.

So get out there into your garages and shops and work HARD to get your favorite project on the road - it is so WORTH it! Take care . . .

Thanks for the video. It did make me want to start on my old rod (also a duece cabriolet). But I got to tell you, I guffawed out loud at your dipstick story. Good for your Mom, and long may she run!

  14. Naw - I've learned, keep it running and build a SECOND engine . . . that way you can have fun with the current motor and drive the car . . . while that big hotrod engine project gets done (which will be at least twice as long as you figure). I did this with my Cab - kept the stock ole' 59AB in it and had a LOT of fun - all the while I labored on my 2 year engine build! But yah know, I didn't mind the 2 years - took my time, because the car wasn't parked.

That does sound like good advice. I do have a coupe of 59 blocks and an 8RT that I could play with.......

Must be extremely gratifying. Those details in your build are evident. You can "feel" how strong she pulls when watching the video.
    Another atta boy for ya.....

That ride was FUN !! :D You are right, when you are able to jump into a car you built with your own hands, and it goes down the road, all the pain and costs of building it are forgotten.

You have a******in' little hot rod there, you should be very proud.

I've followed you thread, and I loved it! But that ride was way more then I expected it to be.
Better sound, good response and looks very fast!
Congratulations on a job well done!!!
