It's that time again for the annual James Dean Festival in Fairmount, In. Currantly the rain is falling as it seems to do every year. But forcasters say it should clear up by Friday. Got the Mustang all spitshined and ready for action. Cruising from Fairmount to The "Duck Run" in Gas City, In. Any other gearheads coming to the party?
I will be there fri and sat.camping at gas city.will have the Essex there and some parts for sale. PNB- they have 'stretched' the years to 1970 (?) for this show.
Well don't tell anyone but some mustangs are cool, and this gets it back on top again. If I had an old speedster I would make it a point to be there by the way.
I am going for the first time. Be there fri nite we couldn't find any hotels closer than Kokomo. I'll be in my shoebox convertible and Youngrodder in his new 41 coupe.
We will be here Friday afternoon in the 1952 Lincoln and two 1931 Tudor Sedans. It has been 20 years since I was at either show and I can't wait to see all the Mercs!!!!
I guess a picture of James Dean should be coming up pretty soon along with the car he got killed in.....
Then there will be talk of barris and his ownership of the car etc. I could have been James dean, if I had just been born earlier and had different parents.
This should suffice http://www.kget.com/mostpopular/story/James-Deans-last-autograph/ns3vHrCiIEeRd416ArSbZw.cspx
I had never been before, we had a really good time. I dont know how to describe it really but it had some of the highest quality cars and at the same time some of the worst things I had ever seen, but we did have a blast. The gathering of the Mercs was pretty awesome too.
Wonder if my old merc was there still...one year they parked my old 50 kustom next to a somewhat stock 51 merc next to the sign welcoming people to town.
