Man, that car is cool from every angle. If I had to pick a favorite hot rod from each decade, the 50’s would belong to the 57 Ford.

If you ever drive through Tulsa, Ok. I would enjoy this one close-up. I don't understand why there would ever be any discussion about painting this one. It is painted.

I see your 57’s and also the one a friend has, and I’m ready to sell or trade one of my cars for a post 57.

  8. When a project is finished and you drive it and you like it, I would say that was a vision properly completed. It was fun watching this being built. :)

    Bravo Mr. Norwell!
You have created another kick ass ride, that you dont have to worry about scratching it, with your belt buckle when you lean against it!
In honor of your excellent choice of Fords and the year of manufacture!
    Thanks from Dennis.

Always amazes that there is a Tri-5 Chevy on every street corner but comparable Fords are rare as hen's teeth.

I've seen a subtle change done on 57's that is something to do with different headlight buckets or something which makes the headlamps slightly less protruding. The specific 57 done this way I know of is John Feistrizer's 57 "Hoosier Huricane" a factory SC y-block, drag car.
In any case your 57 looks great.

Especially since Ford outsold Chevrolet in '57, so go figure....I've owned 2 x '57 Fords and presently have a '57 Chevy and the Fords drive/look a lot better (IMO).

  14. Ya, both your 57's put a big smile on my face. Well Done pal. The sounds go along with the looks. I do however miss reading all your up-dates. They kept me planning on getting back on mine. Health and time have kept my progress minimal but still things happening. My 500 Hardtop got a headliner installed along with front and back glass then on a whim I set Motor-n-Trans back on their mounts. Next, I just stood there looking at those Krazzy headers I built. That's where it stopped. I was just over the last 10 weeks on extreme Light duty and told by my Dr to just leave the shop door locked until he said Go again but I couldn't do that so Light Duty to me let me hand build all the necessary front mount brackets for a 70amp Alt and a stock 57 Power steering pump on the Late 351-W motor in the 57 Convert. When done I was thinking "Wonder what Jeff would think of this" So here it is.
20250827_201545.jpg I always thought Retirement would let me do double time on my own projects but Age and Health has a different plan. I don't let it discourage me and still do all I can, it's just never enough. Today is my first day on full release and I feel good enough to hit it once again (I did cheat a little over the holiday weekend). My F-100 project is front and center at this time but these 2 57's are getting impatient and tired of just Resting under a car cover.
Enjoy what your 2 57's give you, you earned it and just maybe sometime in the near future we'll see each other on the road.

I hadn't looked at this until now. Did somebody say paint that car? Based on these pics it looks perfect now.

You know where you gotta stop when you cross into Texas! We've got a spare bedroom here also, Jeff. If I still have mine, I'll follow you to Bob's. Somebody mentioned Tulsa....that's where mine is right now (Gateway classic cars). Your car looks awesome, but you know I'm prejudiced.

A bit embarrassed to put my drawing on a Norwell post but when I was following your build I was inspired to “try” to capture the character of this awesome car. IMG_2854.png

I owned a 2-door hardtop red and black 2-tone for about a week but I was 16 and Mom said no. It was a 282/auto running and driving car I got for about $40 in 1965. There’s just something about the design with the small fins, nice but not overly done side trim, the clean nose that always intrigued me. Nice ride,,Jeff - she’s lookin good …. enjoy!
