First, this guy is NOT YOUR FRIEND. Do what Groucho said and let the city take it. End of story:mad: when your "friend" shows up (providing he ever does) tell him you thought he came and got it as you never heard back when you tried to contact him. Oh, and at that time inform him about the termination of the friendship.

You ***ume it is his car, it may not be then you have a second issue. Tow it to his house, then if he wants you to take it back to sell or what ever you are clear! If he is a friend he would not be avoiding you, it could be a prpoerty in a divorce, you don't want her lawer after you, he claim you and her x had it all planned.

  4. TOW it to his house,,, FASTER,,,and CHEAPER than filing a LIEN and waiting for everything to come through,,, ***le service will run you some cash,,,and a LOT of time,,, which it sounds like you DON'T have,,,,

I don't know how things work in Texas, but here in sunny California I have done leins on 2 cars left at my shop and sold them both. I'm not any kind of legal business, just did it as an ordinary citizen. I did it through a lein service. I paid them 40 bucks a car and they did the paperwork (sent out registered letters) and sent me the complete lein papers in 60 days or whatever it was..maybe 30.

I registered one in my name (and sold it) since it ran and sold the other with the lein papers only.
