Been sick all week, but finally drug my sorry butt out to the garage....blasted the backing plates for the 9" I'm getting ready for the '47 truck. Was a tad bummed to see how wore they were - and totally too impatient (or cheap?) to wait and get suitable replacements. So what's a tightwad to do??? See pics.

Then stopped over a buddy's shop to see front end progress on his '55 ford gasser - nice !!!!! Wish I had my camera there. Anyways while there my buddy donated a 1977-ish F150 4x4 rear driveshaft to use on my '47. It's one of those collaspeable - splined jobs - EAXACTLY what I need!!! It's a tad whipped, but it will allow me to figure out what I need to do to get the 9" rear mated to my '57 pushbutton trans. Now if I could just finally kick this cold - I'd be in FAT CITY.

Not exactly work on the car...I spent the weekend trimming out the windows in my shop. Maybe if I get the materials off the floor and on the walls, I can get the car moved into the shop.

I hate sweeping the shop. I can't stand that dust clould. So I picked up an old built in vacume (read free) and plumbed in today. I then proceeded to clean up that filthy mess. No dust!

I test fitted the mounts for the rotisserie on the Merc. Got a better look at the work ahead....YIKES!! Also got a visit from the local gendarms. Seems a "neighbor" complained that I was making too much noise (grinding and using air tools) at 3:00 PM on a Sunday afternoon. Cop was cool. Said just make sure not to do it late at night. Fargin asshat. Let the games begin....his ass is MINE now.

Holy crap! I finally got something done on my truck!!!(granted I'm way behind on my other crap now but what the hell eh?) I got the new fuel tank installed (spun alum tank I sourced from a dune buggy shop) plumbed all the new fuel line, got the old fuel tank out of the cab, welded up the old hole in the cab and smoothed it out as well as repainted (love the satin black while still welding and working metal) got rid of my edlecrap carb and got my new 670 holley on and tuned, installed my new to me reconditioned cal custom 6 fin valve covers, cut out and refabbed my front fender supports (so I can lay the titanium blocks on the ground and move at the same time), got a welding bottle dolly fabbed up (from a freeby 2 wheel dolly I pulled outta the trash, narrowed it and shortened it to fit the bottle) and got all the hard places to get to in my interior covered in dynamat. All I gotta do now is wash the gunk and grime off in prep for the turkey run and I'm golden!

Now that the truck is drivable once more I can finish up my sons 39 ford stroller!

  15. Went to the PSCA (outlaw street racers) drags yesterday. 57 Chevy went 213 MPH! Twin turbo 71 Camaro (possible 6 second car) hits wall at almost 200 MPH and moves K-rails over a couple feet.

I ripped out the last of the old wiring harness, and got the new one about half-installed in my roadster-ized fenderless sedan. Okay... it was a VW sedan. I'll shut up now.

    Congrats on the Grandson!!!

  21. Friday: Rebuilt the 94 on my shoebox. Cleaned up the motor. Pulled the plugs, gapped and cleaned them. Put on new plug wires. Made an overflow bottle out of a maxwell house coffee can for my radiator to pressurize the coolant system. Pulled the 6v heater fan and dissasembled to inspect and clean. It was making a rattling noise.

Saturday: HAMB'er gal (Debbie) brought over her 63 Galaxie for some wiring massaging. Looked it over and cleaned up the mess and got the baby running. Buddy brought over his 30 A coupe for a wire job as well. Pulled it in to get started.

Sunday: Delivered the 63 Galaxie back to HAMB'er, started the wiring on the A. Re-installed the 6v fan back into the shoebox. Rebuilt the 94 again. Had to pull it because the float wasnt set. Stripped 2 of the top screws. Went to a buddies to be schooled on Helicoils and flattys. Went shopping for daughter...new shoes, movie and dinner.

Now, Im ready for bed. :)

  30. found out i got a bent spindle, secured another from a deuce owner around the corner from me...modified the bench seat frame to fit the floor and the future driveshaft tunnel and installed the new tracks on the seat frame...did a prelim sketchout of the air chamber for the heat/ac system blower and ductwork, and dropped a couple welds on my friends riding lawnmower broken parts....good beer.
