Well after lurking here for a couple of years and joining a few months ago thought it was time to introduce myself. I grew up helping my dad restore old car and trucks in the 60's and 70's. Dad passed away in 79 and was in process of restoring a 36 Hupmobile 4 door sedan that mom sold about 6 months later, but the guy didn't get it all I still have the serial ID tag. I've always loved the the old rods and such, but life took me on a different path with motorcycles for 48 years. At the end of this month the wife and I are moving back to So. Texas after 29 years in Colorado. The brother in law offered us the other house on his ranch out in the country outside of Runge, Tx. And I hope to find something for a project after we get setteled. There are so may junkyards down there off the beaten path on gravels road that I really hope to find what I looking. Back in the 90's I had a 34/5 window that I was working on "BUT" had to sell it to keep the house after being injured at work(sold the harley too). Any way I hope to hook up with some rodders down there and relearn what it takes to get started in hot rodding in this day and age and on a limited budget if its possible. I'm 58 and not to old to learn more about something that's always been in my blood. I hope this intro is good enough if not I have pretty thick skin, but there is so much I need to learn and soak in and I'll be the first to admit it. CrazyBob
Welcome. Perhaps you can find another Hupmobile in one of those junkyards. My 35 started life as a 4 door.
