Hey guys, what's the date of the shindig? I can't seem to find it anywhere. I'd love to come check it out even though I've got nothing to race at the moment. I'm guessing that no one would like me to bring a 68 Dart as that's a little too new.

As much as I like muscle cars, this event is pre 1964. Take the Dart for a cruise and come check out the track and the racing. There is an event in the Spring, at Little River, that includes the muscle cars.

But you are probably the favorite in Flathead X. Scottz's blown flatty will get moved up due to the power adder. If your car runs half as good as it sounds, you should trounce the rest of the Flathead Class.

I've been trying not to pay attention to this but... I might just have to make the drive down for Saturday. Whoop up on the guys in Gas Coupe/Sedan. I should be able to get her back together by then with a stronger driveline.

 

Kerry, that'd be great if you came down to run with us. Should be some great grudge racing going on. But I have to tell you that your blower is gonna bump you up a class. You'll run with DW in the Comp. Class.

I hope that doesn't deter you from coming. Like the HAMB Drags, nobody is too concerned about winning there class. But everybody is concerned about winning the grudges against there buddies.

The distance is the big thing that could deter me. There's some sort of old time drags at Tulsa the same weekend which is a heck of a lot closer. Not sure but I think a bunch of the Okie gasser guys are going to be there. Got to talk to them some last Sunday at Wichita when I tore up my driveline. Still I'd like to run with you guys. Temple has a great atmosphere to boot.

I was there a few years ago. The one where it started late cause of the rain. Got my 100 mph patch and everything. It was the first race after I had sorted out a nasty ignition problem. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face the whole drive home.

 

Kerry, you & I will likely be the slowest in the group. It will still be fun though.
I gotta wonder though.......at Day of the drags past, how many cars show up that fit into a comp class? The only dedicated race cars I remember, are all exhibition cars. Feds, altereds & the like.
I can only think of three, pre 64, actual dedicated race cars, that show up. The Thunderbeast & El Toro666 in the roadster class, & the 7 sins coupe in the coupe/sedan class. Who else is there?

 

speaking of exhibition cars, does anybody know what exhibition cars will be there, besides me?

 

Errrr...Well, there's always that 1957 Ford Pro Mod that turn off the nitrous and STILL runs in the low 9's.
He's kind of a bastard like that, but I like it anyway.
the little yeller Nova with the blower ...I am pretty sure it's just a race car with a pretty paint job.
but I feel ya...there are always more cars painted up to look like race cars than actual race cars.

 

And the '55 that you ran a couple of times. There will be a couple more cars in the Comp Class because of the power adder change.

I know it's probably more fun to run a 2 seconds faster than everbody than it is to run 2 seconds slower than some, but this will make more of the classes closer to even.
