    Built a spare bullet for my DD, so pulled the original and yanked the offending piston tonight. I may have found the problem.....:eek:
    I know exactly when I did this and on a 150K+ motor I spun it way too high playing around one morning.

    How does the cylinder wall look?

    It's an old high mileage engine, so all the cylinders have a decent ridge, but that cylinder is no worse than the others. No real scoring, just wear.

    Its a good thing it happened close to home,I managed to damage a piston on a 200,000 mile motor about 600 miles from home but was able to limp home.

    Time for forged pistons. Might as well get stronger rods & a steel crank while you are at it.
