looking for info ....just got a j&s t5 adapter for behind a gm bellhousing from a customer.he bought it from another guy.looked em up online and found their website but they dont mention anything about selling these. its cast J&S on the bottom .any info would be great thanks
S10 T5s have a longer input shaft and I have heard of people putting a plate between the transmission and bell housing to make up this difference. Also, the later S10 T5s have a Ford bolt pattern. It is possible someone has made a plate adapter for mating this transmission to the Chevy belhousings. Why don't you post a couple of pictures?
Most likely it is something similar to this one on Ebay 191474011114 Cast plate machined to space the trans off the bellhousing the correct distance and made to locate the trans correctly. This one is a bit more elaborate 191474010056 There was also one that looked more like it was cut out of a piece of steel plate with a waterjet or plasma that I didn't put the link to.
bttt .yes this is a spacer plate .i just put one behind a 235 in a 54 chev at work and it worked out great.im thinking of puting the t5 behind my 57 pontiac engine in place of my 53 ford 3 speed with o/d in my 29 .wondering also what power a stock s10 unit will take. thanks
I bought one off a guy here on the HAMB . the name was Hot Rod Works and am very happy with it . His number is 208-455-7971 He should be able to answer any questions you have !
There is a guy on here that makes T-5 adapter plates. His user name is INLINE and he has a web site called Vintage Metal Works. Got an adapter to put a Mustang WC T-5 on my SBC. Nice guy, had my adapter in 10 days, reasonable price, 10% off for Hambers.
