History Jack Walker's "Legends Tribute"

The Starbird team is thrilled to welcome back Jack Walker's "Legends Tribute" to the 60th Anniversary of the Starbird Car Show in Tulsa, OK on Feb. 16-18 O'Reilly Auto Parts!
The headliner will be Cliff Starbird's recreation of Darryl's infamous bubble top, the Predicta! See it in its original Monogram red for the first time in over 50 years!


The second entry in Jack Walker's "Legends Tribute" at the 60th Anniversary of the Starbird Car Show in Tulsa, OK on Feb. 16-18 presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts is George Barris' 1941 Merc, “Merc of Zaro”, owned by Russ Erlinger of Freeburg, IL!



The third entry in Jack Walker's "Legends Tribute" at the 60th Anniversary of the Starbird Car Show in Tulsa, OK on Feb. 16-18 presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts is the Alexander Bros' 1956 Chevy, “Golden Chariot”, owned by Lou Calasibetta of Stillwater, NJ!




The fourth entry in Jack Walker's "Legends Tribute" at the 60th Anniversary of the Starbird Car Show in Tulsa, OK on Feb. 16-18 presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts is Larry Watson's 1951 Chevy, “G****vine”, owned by David Myers of Conway, AR!

"See it in its original Monogram red for the first time in over 50 years!"

Not sure what is meant by this statement. The original version was blue, with the bumper/grill surround.
Later reworked somewhat and painted red for Monogram.

Not hating, just didn't understand that line. I'm as anxious as anyone to see it!

The next entry in Jack Walker's "Legends Tribute" at the 60th Anniversary of the Starbird Car Show in Tulsa, OK on Feb. 16-18 presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts is Darryl Starbird's 1962 Handbuilt Chevy Pickup, “The Ultra Truck” aka “The Orange Hauler”, owned by Louie Lionetti of Las Vegas, NV!

 

This is really cool, I wish I would be able to attend, I will be there in spirit.

 

It will be heavily covered so you will have a lot of pictures to check it out.

 

Some really nice customs! One of these years will drag Taboo back to that show....

 

Hmm, some of those look familiar. LOL. I am surprised however they posted my Chevy as a '51 AND implying it's actually Larry's even though I have been clear it's more a tribute than a clone and certainly NOT Larry's. LOL Jack knows, of course, but I guess the details got missed between the phone calls and the social media. Oh well, gonna be a fun weekend just the same and looking forward to it! .....now I just have to finish the fender repair from the rogue speed bump. LOL

 

And hopefully it doesn't protest about going to Oklahoma this time.

I actually figured you were hinting that I needed to take pics.

 

Looks good from back here and in a low res photo. LOL I think I'm pleased with the blend (haven't seen it outside in the sun of course, but looks good with a shop light on it), but I am no master with getting my final coats of clear smooth. Sigh. Hopefully it will be cured enough to wet sand and buff before next Tuesday night when I have to load it up. Just in case I don't....don't look too close when you see it next weekend. Haha!!

I'm sure most will appreciate a great car showing up.

 

Haha! I'll ask Jack if I can have some. LOL

 

I could always load up some sandpaper and my buffer if needed and we can do a how-to during the show.
