Hey everyone, Well its about time in my build to rebuild the rear end on my project and am having a hard time finding parts. A wile back i found a website that sold polyurethane inner and outer bushings for the lower control arm. I believe they went by CWI. but i cant find them anywhere now. Does anyone know if anyone else sells those bushings or even a "rebuild kit" cuz i would need U-joints and brake disks and all that good stuff. Here is a picture of my project. Its a little old but noting huge has changed so far.
The UK guys may have some better answers than we might. A Google search works though http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...l=1&emsg=NCSR&noj=1&ei=Q24zTabIL82r8AbqkqWXCQ U joints should be available at most parts houses anywhere in the world. You might have to order and wait but they should be able to get them. On the brake disks, again local suppliers or From suppliers in the UK
CWI is short for Concours West Industries, Inc, This is the link to there old web page. http://cwiinc.com/ As you can see the domain registration has expired. I don't know what that says about the company but it ain't good. I did find this. http://www.hellotrade.com/concours-west-industries/cwi-jag-irs-suspension.html It is not their official web site but it does have a phone number. Worth a try.
If I remember right, there was an article a long time ago (20 years or so) in Street Rodder that had common bushing interchanges for the Jag rear. I don't remember the issue, but I do know this - I've rebuilt the rear suspensions in a lot of foreign cars, and I've always been able to get the dimensions from the control arms and find bushings that fit.
just get one thats close.. put it in a lathe and turn it till its the right dimentions.. theres a few threads on here about that..
I'm narrowing a Jag rear end this week for a model A installation. I just bought a bar of 2" black Delrin and some stainless steel round stock. I'm goin to machine my own bushings w/ stainless sleeves. Simple lathe job!!!!
well the reason for not wanting to go with the bearings was that the bushings were just one simple piece. I could always go with the bearings i just thought the bushings were a simpler way.
