Traditional for an FNG to dig up for his first post on the Board. He must have a hell of a shovel to dig that deep in the archives. Here locally Donor Jags are few and far between. That puts the price up above what they go for in other parts of the country. The killer is still the cost and ease of getting replacement parts. Loose a bearing in a hub on the way to a rod trot and your weekend just turned to a lost weekend and most likely looking for a trailer to get it home on. Loose a wheel bearing in a 9 inch Ford or 8 inch Ford and you pop the axle out, wag it to a parts house or shop that has a press to change bearings and a bit later you are back on the road with a new bearing and a pocket that still has some jingle in it for a cold one.
I remember as a teenager back in the 70's being at the Lodi Nationals and enjoying watching the chrome plated half-shafts spinning under many of the high buck rods. Very cool at the time for sure.
