  4. Great time, lots of nice cars. Leaving before the storm, I got about ten miles out and my fuel pump quit. Had to be towed, but luckily Tom ? with the Dodge COE stopped and offered his lift. Got it "fixed" and ran the rest of the way home in the rain.
    Thanks Tom!!

  5. I left at 3. Was in my daily. I did see your car on the shoulder. Good to see you didn't need a tow! I lucked out heading to the showdown in 2007 in my 47 Ford (sold it). Was heading there Friday night when suddenly the engine stalled as I was pulling into a parking lot where my friend was going to have dinner. I found that the bolt/nut came off where the choke linkage is on the carb. It was 9:55pm and there happened to be a Lowe's right there. They were closing at 10. I was able to find a matching nut and bolt and got 'er going again. Not sure what would have happened if this happened after 10pm. Would of had to wait till morning for them to open back up lol.

  7. I saw you and the COE on the side of the road. Kicked myself in the ass for not stopping. I was having trouble keeping my truck idling when I left the show and didn't stop except for a bathroom break close to home. Glad you made it.

  8. Many stopped, but when I figured the mechanical pump died and the back up electric wouldn't come on, there was nothing anyone could do. I did get to Tom's on the back of a flatbed, they even helped push it onto the lift. Road Rangers Towing. May have been a bad ground, but when Tom put 12 volts to it, it came alive, so back under it went and got me home. Started looking at catalogs, told my friend Hutch who rode with me on Sat., got to his house and said come by tomorrow. Had a brand new, in the box, made in Canada mech pump and a small NAPA electric in the blister pack that his friend left when he moved to CA (Thanks Karl). So just finished putting on the mech and with rain proposed, will do the elec in the garage tomorrow. Thanks to all, felt dumb when asked "Were you the one with the for sale sign?" Two new pumps. I should jack up the price?? Not! Hope this sells, then I can take the coupster up next year, maybe finished by then. :)

The only disappointing thing about this thread was when I got to the end of the pics. They were done but I wanted more.
    Great coverage right here.
