Jalopy Showdown Drags are on!! Sept. 29th

The Jalopy Showdown Drags are going to happen for sure at Beaver Springs Dragway http://www.beaversprings.com/index.html Saturday Sept. 29th with the rain date being Sunday the 30th. We'll fill in the details as things progress. I'm just happy to have the chance to make this happen at a real track with responsive owners after my failed attempt with the airport guy last year. I think we found a weekend that will not mess with any other event that you may want to do. Hope to see you there!

You guys will like Beaver Springs. The track has a real 60s feel. It is safe but not to modern if you know what I mean. Beaver Bob (track owner) is very enthusiastic about nostalgia cars. He just bought a very cool '63 427 Galaxie to cruise...

Thanks SO much Larry for doing this type of event. I'm really looking forward to getting together with my east coast buds for a fun filled weekend at the track.

Unfortunatly it is not going to be as free and easy as I hear the HAMB Drags tech is, but it will not be super tuff. Mostly common sense stuff. When I have the final word from them I will post it. Thanks again for the interest.

 

Looking forward to this event. I'll keep my eyes open for the rest of the info = what, when, where all that stuff.

I ran my '58 at the Beav' a few years ago. It was common sense tech, no leaks, battery tied down, no loose shit in the trunk.

Hell ya! I'm there (if my car will pass tech.) Keep us posted on the requirements needed to run, and where can we stay? Camp out in our rides at the drags? Sounds like a plan. I've got my car all torn apart and ready for my first big summer of actual drag racing. Cant wait!

What is the cut off year for drag racing at this event?

 

ok guys, told some guys at work about the show down and CAMARO guy thinks he can show up with his camaro belly button car! what do you guy think about a camaro at the show down?? i just laughed at him

Proceed with the laughing. there will be NO Camaros or Mustangs. Most likely 63 will be the cut off...maybe earlier.
