Guys, Check out the website at www.beaversprings.com for all the latest posting of what is going on this weekend. It will probably answer most of your questions. I just got off the phone with Charlie Overfelt. They are bringing a couple of Flathead powered dragsters. Charlie won the Hot Rod Reunion event running 10 flat at 135 MPH!! Looks like good weather. See everyone here. Beaver Bob
well...we will be there...to watch. The car is just not cooperating, and I am sad to say it, I am throwing in the towel...the potential is there...but it needs more development...
I'll be there. looking forward to the event since I didn't make that latimore event. not sure if I am bringing the 31 dodge yet
You seem pretty pumped about running your car.....don't give up on it you have 4 days left, cars have been built in 4 days. Stay positive and work it out, if your stuck post your problems and we'll see if we can work it out.
Hell yeah i'll be there in my 37 Chevy but i don't think i'm gonna run it. And DirtyThirty, i would love to see that thing run, hopefully it somehow makes it out there man.
if i only had someone to drive it up i would gladly put a hurting on you friday night. and i wouldnt ***** out like someone we know
Dirtythirty...you can do it!! It doesn't have to be perfect. We're just there to have fun. The smack talk just adds to the fun. Clark
What, you gonna sell that Dodge there?? C-mon man.. keep that car. I don't want ya sayin " I had a car that could take ya"
Yea Clark, The smack talk is the sh*t. I laugh at you guys all the time. Y'all hold the Smack Talk record. Wish mine was done, cuz I know a Dodge that would love lookin at the *** of a Plymouth.
thanks, guy's...well...I have a few issues...but, We're gonna keep on trying, after a nights rest, I feel a little better...If it was 1/4 mile, I would say the hell with it, 'cuz it is NOT o.k. for a 100 mph p***, with the front end problems, ( still shakes when decelerating, you can straighten it out by braking, sometimes, sometimes not...and it is very random...sometimes, it doesn't even do it...) but, I think the 1/8 will be o.k....I still have a couple days, so...we shall see...
unfortunately, what I need is someone locally whos experience/understanding of this front end is unlimited. Mine is, and I have a lot of friends who always help me out...however, nothing they own pre-dates the sixties! I'm outta time, money, and almost ideas...anyone in South Jersey a cross-spring/beam axle in drag racing expert? I'm coming over! I'll bring the coffee...HELP!!!!
Here is a good place to start, this post may be able to help you since it covers camber and caster. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=184090&highlight=axle+caster
I have to go! If my big dog Buick gets to smell just a hint of burnt rubber, it's gotta get it nose in the burn-out box. I'm gonna be bouncing back 'n forth from Englishtown flea market and the Jalopy Drags. I have to help a friend vend at E-town. I'm wondering if anyone knows if any of that gay club that calls themselves the Deadbeaters is going to the Drags?
thanks man...I have been over the alignment, unfortunately several times, I have 7 degrees caster, at this time, 1/8 inch toe in, and a stabilizer, adj. perches, a new spring, new king-pins , new pete and jakes shocks, a new Super Bell axle, F-1 brakes, new spindles...everything. I have changed tires, changed rims...I have been arguing for a panhard bar, even though the Hairpins triangulate it, somewhat, on account of it is set up with cross-steering. I know it bumpsteers a bit, and I think it is "shackle-rock" and I am installing the panhard, like I have been wanting to, on Thurs. I thought we had it cured, with the tires, as they were experiencing a lot of run-out ( 1/4 inch) but, other rims/tires are doing the same. Kingpins are tight. Wheel bearings are tight. I am also wondering about, and will be looking at the brake drums...I'm trying to make it! I wanna come play...not just watch, but: If it doesn't seem non-***-puckeringly-comfortable...I won't run until I have it right. I hope I'll see ya'll this weekend in the lanes...not behind the guardrail. thanks, Mark.
We've been looking forward to this all summer, just hoping the weather cooperates. Be there in '31 coupe, but won't be running it. It's a long walk back to Lancaster County, so I'll just have to be satisfied watching everyone else go down the strip.
C-mon John, I know that big block can run, But I'm lighter than you. Besides, If the 340 don't leave a mark, I know the s/b stroker's gonna hurt ya. Hopefully the Dodge will still be around then. Keep it another season!
No...I'm just homo-tolerant. A guy I know is tran***ual that works in the Traditional media, he put that on my bumper. He's cool though, he's going to the Jalopy Drags.
Lets bump this to get a little more attention, I'll be drivng up Saturday morning. Wouldn't miss it!!!!!!!
o.k....perhaps...just perhaps....we might be making it, WITH the car, after all...I will have rac**** eyes, and be throwing my tools, tent, and beer together at the last minute, though... I got a LONG night ahead of me...
Slam...You know I have to inspect all parts before any sales can be made It's a tough job but somebody has to do it. Clark
Looks like my brother will have his 61 Impala Super Stocker running and racing tomorrow. If anyone is looking for a 3 deuce small block setup (offy intake with 97's) we will have one on the table for sale. So, bring CASH$$$$$
Hey Jay, Is that "Gorilla Milk" ? I love that car! I'll have my truck there so come over and say hi. Todd
