Another huge THANK YOU to Larry,Kim,Bob and everyone who makes this show happen, Once again made it out for the Jalopy Showdown Drags at the amazing track in beaver springs pa. Me and Jeremiah (thomas s&c) drove up saturday morning set up camp. Saw lots of familar faces bumped into fellow Hambers threw out the day , and surprising enough it didnt rain this year no need to dry the track off it was a beautiful day for drag racing sunny sky in the 60's the cars loved it. Got to take pictures on the feild thank you Bob,larry and Spike always have a good time shooting next to you.
My favorite part of the day was getting to witness that twin hemi engine dragster go down the track! Growing up going to englishtown raceway park never have i seen one of those go down the strip. That is something that will be burned into my mind forever so awesome. ok heres some pics

    thanks u two!

so happy to have something this cool kinda close to home haha 3 hrs but so worth it , great seeing people i only really get to see one time a year, Thank u chris chabre for coming out always nice seeing you, thanks ed for the rubber bands , at night time i actually missed the real bicycle drags b/c i was camped out at the very end of the drag strip :( but when some friends came back from dinner we had our own races until we got ambushed at the starting line with rubber bands and we knew it was time to get our ammo and go to war .
the pennsylvania crew of me,jeremiah,Spike, monica, alley, rob and dwight and attacked the ohio crew once again, where don was smart this year and wore goggles, we stayed on the pavement to make for a easy clean up , the rubber band war was epic this year went on for over a hour great laughs lots of yelps and ouches . i have black and blues and welts from it but with all the laughs it was well worth it, thank you don for sweeping up our battle in the am .

next year cant come soon enough

those are some of the best action shots I have seen in a long long time. Do you mind me asking what speeds you were shooting at to get the great stop action, and what kind of lense were you using (focal range and speed). it looks like you were standing right next to them. awesome

threw out the day i play with the camera settings so its hard to say what ill keep it on all depends on the lighting and all, i mainly shoot in the program mode, been playing around in the tv mode, im using a canon rebel xti with a 18-55 range, i used that lens all day , i have a 70-300 lens but 70 is to much for where im standing . id be happy with a lens that covers the 60 range, on my list to buy
i can tell u some of the blurred background ones are 1/60 but talk about trying to stand still enough to do so kinda hard but sometimes it works out

This one. Was this featured in the Rodder's Journal awhile back? I just looked through my archives and of course I can't find it. I thought the article mentioned Kennedy Brother's, but I am probably wrong. I couldn't find anything searching Google.

  30. Jen, you have a really good eye with the camera...great stuff...The rubber ban battle was epic , with no major injuries this year..Brian actually did the sweeping, we all picked up the best rubber bands (for next year:cool:). Great seeing you again.
