What you guys may want to have is something like the way Beaver Bob runs his Stoplight Drags. Everyone runs a couple of time runs and then you get grouped with cars that are close in times. So you would have cl***es like a 10.0,11.0,12.0,13.0 and anything slower. This makes heads up racing and close racing. Hell just getting rid of the X-mas tree and using the Stoplights would be cool. I was at one of the Stoplight Drags and liked it as a racer and a spectator.

I'd like to thank Larry and Beaver Bob for inviting us back..! We had a blast putting on a show for the fans. Having original S&S race team member Fred Bear drive the K.S. car was awesome! Freddy had his hands full on the first p***...and the second was wire to wire the entire race. These pics are off The Beaver Springs Web site....

Last year I made about 8 p***es in the open grudge match time when the racing was over, so it's not like you can't run heads up with anyone you want. This year ran a little late and a clean up cut into the grudge matches, but I still went down twice with people that just wanted to keep playing. Even got the last run down the track against the gray 55 Ford --the equipment was just shut down and we did a 3,2,1 start !!!

Events like this make me HATE working retail. I get 1 Saturday off a month, if I'm lucky, AND I'm the boss.

I have to agree with most of the people who want "heads up" racing. Should be pretty easy to setup. Since, your racing for trophies. Run Pro Tree and have a good time.

Is a flagman a conceivable option nowadays? Flagmen were always a big part of the scene, and unlike a tree they are truly random (maybe psychotic, too), so racers have to REACT, not anticipate or become one with an electronic interval.
Insurance company probably won't like it...grumble, grumble. Tellem the flagman is an expendable, like oil. No insurance implications then.

Actually, they used to have one...
    It was BAD-***!
They would typically run first round with the flag man @ The York reunion, AND at this show, too, if my memory serves me correct. This year, he was absent from the racing, since he has parted ways with the track, or so I am told.

    Hey Gregg,
Your car is in no way considered a POS! I can't count how many pictures I've taken of your car..Every time I see it I take a few shots. Sorry if I offended you..or your car. I think the ECG guys MADE the show!

As you and a few others have said, you run your cars hard and I believe that, however, racing to see how fast you can go is..well...drag racing the way it used to be..

I had a great time !......Great to see everyone and meet new HotRodders as well !......As for the racing cl***es and how it was run.....I really have no problems w/ it...Everything went real smooth, I only seemed a little rushed @ times but made it out each time I needed.....To me this show is about the A-B-and C cl***es...and these cl***es run heads up as it is....I ran in exibition this year because I wanted and needed 1/4 mile data where the A-B-C cl***es only ran 1/8 mile...and yes eventhou my Truck is plated and insured and can be driven on the street....it is more racing oriented so the X cl*** is a better fit in my mind....I would like to see us run under the lights once, but in the end I am thankful for the venue to attend......It's difficult to juggle everything to keep everyone happy, but it's easy to complain...Thankyou ScaryLarry your wife and Beaver Springs Dragway and to all that help put on the event !! .........Littleman Dave Lohr

    I forgot to add.....My best was only a 10.65 @ 126.97 mph.........I had hoped to do better.....I know I was disappointed.......Dave

raising the front, worth the price of admission. ECG were great, eager to run. A lot
of nice stuff in a different venue for us. It's on the calendar.......

  29. Be awesome to have a "Nostalgia" jet car to close the show @ dusk.
