what time is it over??? i get out of work at 3 on saturday... and bein 3 hours away??? anything happening at 6??? or is everyone gone????

 

Never heard of it.

 

Where are folks staying that are sleeping in local motels?? I need names and numbers. The one I have been trying I don't get an answer. Would sure like to stay in the same place as some others.

 

hotel "econoline" want the number? my girlfriend wont mind.

Denise, If you want a room, check the chain hotels in Gettysburg. Its not too far away, 10-15 miles, and away from the Goodguys show. May make it easier to find a room. There will be a shower, read 1, in the little hut in the infield. With any luck, it will have hot water!

I should be there. I'm trying to work out little details.
My plan is to hit the sprint cars at Williams Grove on Friday night... stay near Mechanicsburg that night... and roll to the show after a hearty breakfast on Saturday morning.
Now that is a PLAN !

Denise there is a little family run hotel north of Gettysburg on rte 34 called the Blue Sky Motel. It's clean and priced in the 50-60$ range. The number is 717-677-7736. Might be available give them a call. It's not that far to 15 North which will take you to the Showdown. I have a bunch of other # but try that one first

 

I should be there, hopefully with my friend Bill O Connell, he's bringing some people with him too.

 

I will be there, hopefully following Kustomkoupe and his roadster.... in my 54... since it's stock, guess I'll be parking outside the lot, but hey, still gonna be there... and in the event I'm following zach, then well... he'll get there well ahead of me.. haha...

 

I got a room in Gettysburg. Econologde and Hilton garden have rooms but not very cheap..

 

Cheap rooms are far and few between in this area anymore. Too much going on every weekend for them to give a break. I guess its a matter of supply and demand.

 

I would guess there are not many hotels with $59 per night rates in the north east. I can find that and cheaper all day long in charleston (and its a tourist town). Last year I paid $139 for a hotel (redroof Inn) north of Baltimore on my way up to the show.. I choked but was so tired from working all day and driving 9 hrs that I just took it (and it was 2am when I stopped)

No hotels though, just a couple cheap tents..

I still may camp but will not sleep in the backseat of the wagon.. Made for a long sleepless night.. even with lots of beer... Got the hotel as a backup.. Problem is I do not have a cool Scotty camper nor do I have a tent that sleeps less then 6.. May look around this weekend for a 2 man set up...

 

I just called this motel. They have rooms available one double bed room is $55 and 2 Double beds are $66. It is about 5 minutes from the center square of Gettysburg. This is American run so they speak English!!! Hopefully this will help those of you that need rooms out with out breaking the bank.

 

Thanks for checking Kyle, much appreciated and it sounds like a deal. I've taken Clark up on his offer of sleeping in the little camper at the track. Should be fun, I haven't "camped" in many, many years
