My wife SANDI will be working the swag tent; the other SANDY won't be arriving till late Sunday evening. Latest weather shows low 70s on Saturday with overcast -great photography day! Lots of great T-Shirts and other SWAG for sale. Also some super artwork ready for the "Live Art Auction". I'm looking forward to seeing everyone be sure to say "Hi"; I'll be sporting my regular brown Royal Stetson hat like your grand dad used to wear. J'Mike
Final late night thrash. What a week tying up the loose ends to get her done. Wild Willy came over and laid down some lines late tonight. Ready to raise some hell in MD Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Congrats to HomemadeHardtop57 3 builds of his invited inside 3 years in a row!!! (is that a record?) and all top notch rods!!
As if Jalopyrama isn't cool enough already, this year there will be a model car display inside the Armory. There will not be any diecasts,,,,these are hand-built, highly detailed models built from plastic or resin kits. Don't try to pick them up or touch them. My wife was military trained and she'll be guarding the model tables. (Okay, she was an Air Force nurse, not a sniper in Viet Nam,,,,,but she'll still kick your ***.)
Okay,,,,here is ONE teaser shot from the load-in today. You'll have to be there tomorrow to see the rest of the great cars.
Approximately 12 hours until Jalopyrama #9 gets underway. No big storm until Monday, although some rain will probably start coming in on Sunday. So, enjoy the day on Saturday. There will be lots of great hot rods and customs, great Jalopyrama swag at the merchandise tent, great food, great model cars, great pinstripers, great auction items, great vendors, great door prizes, and great friends. Please be safe coming to the show as well as going home!
Just got home from Jalopyrama #9! Another fantastic one in the books. Congrats to Mike S. and all of the Rusty Nuts. Perfect weather, great cars, nice people. AFAIK there was no HAMB gathering at Noon like was mentioned but I saw Brucie and a number of other HAMBers. Hope everyone makes it home before the storm.
I got back a little while ago, and I have to say this was one of the best car shows I've ever been to. The cars there were awesome, I've never seen so many top-notch traditional cars in one place. If you're on the fence about going to this show next year, just go.
I had all good intentions of going once again but ........this trumped up storm had me running all day in preparation.....along with a depressed Viet Nam vet brother who is really not doing well.....sometimes I run out of words for him....it has been one of those days......but I am sure it was a great event and hats off to all who went , contributed, helped and were a part of another great show Mike and group put together.
