And where in the heck can I find a room? I've tried all the online stuff...all booked up from Anderson to Muncie and north. Ron, got ay ideas? Yeah, I know I always wait until the last minute...it's more fun that way...I might even get to sleep in the car like I did in Lancaster! Just wanted to post a heads up, see who will be there, and maybe set up a time for a meeting.... Darin, you still out there? Your tent worked out as a good meeting place last year... Brian
I will be there as a spectator. I found on the internet that the Clarion Hotel Kokomo has openings. Best Western Peru also is available. Does anybody know if the Hip Hugger in Kokomo is still open? I have not been in Kokomo since 1993. I was stationed at Grissom AFB.
I see several cars every year coming out of Kokomo in the mornings on my way through. That would put you about 30 miles west of the events. Do not know about the Hip Hugger but the red and white checkerboard gas tower came down last Sunday.
We'll be there, probably the same schedule as Josh. We already made our reservations for 2004 (thanks again,Ron)!
Dman, did you check the price? They wanted something like $129.95 a night...and I'm not paying that. I'll sleep in the car first! Brian
The last time a checked there was still a few rooms on the north side of Muncie. Gregg They just repaved that road out to that place a few weeks ago. Now it is nice and smooth and looks a little wider, may not be but looks it.
I'll be there with or without (more likely without at this point) the '50 Chevy. We'll be pulling in Fri. nite. This is my first time so I'm really looking forward to it.
I'll be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ducktail all 3 days. Ron, is there anything "special" happening at JD on friday?
Does anybody know what the camping is like in the area? I got a price of $90-$100 on the internet for the motels.
trust me the hip hugger is definately still open!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's amazing what you get for a dollar there!
Here is some campground info, I'm sure there are more. I have not stayed at any of these so no personal comments. At the Ducktail Run (from what I understand there are no showers just a hose). Camping for tents only will be allowed on the north end of the park along the river north of the walkway. This is due to the increased size of the show. The Torrid Torquers (Donzie, FAB32, HotRodTom and I) will be there. DT on Friday and the JD on Saturday. What about a HAMB get together? Hey Denise!!! Arn't you the social chairmen???
I don't know if this helps, but these are smaller motels in the Anderson area. They seem to look alright. Mar-Jon Motel-765-644-7766, A friend of mine used to own this one, it used to pretty nice, on the south side of Anderson, close to I69, easy to get to Fairmount. Economy Inn-765-642-9966, My same friend used to own this one too, has been sold a couple of years ago and it looks like they fixed it up. Easy shot staight up highway 9 to Fairmount or you could go to I69. Johnson's Motel-765-642-8008, Don't know anything about this one. Looks alright. North side of Anderson, easy shot up highway 9. Hope these help.

[/ QUOTE ] Rich, I would love to go, I have the weekend off, but I'm outta moooo-la. It sucks the rooms are so expensive in that area for that weekend. You got space on the floor in your room???
I am thining about going to the ducktail run and meeting up with a kid that twitches alot. Maybee having my kid scarred for life by seeing a cry baby doll smashed under "IRRITANTS" car. getting squirted by a washing machine. And sick from all the food. as well as trailering a hot rod down and getting busted out in CKD for being a poser. Oh wait that all happened last year!!! Damn right I am going again see ya'll there. I 'll be the guy there in the wanna be rockerbilly garb posing to be a hot rodder because I cannot drive two cars at the same time. later drew
I'll be there again this year if my POS 53 Chevy holds together again. Hopefully will get to meet some of you guys this time. I won't have the family with me for half the time. Bill
