That looks awesome Jim!! Now I really feel that you are heading in the right direction I hope you sticks to this plan! What are you current plan for the front-end?
i'm reasonably sure i'll use what i have mocked up already,,,, (or something very similar)...but the headlights will be hooded... i made the grille opening out of two 50 pontiac fastback window garnish mouldings.....for a grille, i'm kinda thinking of concave vertical tubing, similar to a 54 buick grille....and i don't think i'll pancake the hood quite as severely as it is in my mockup..
got my inner door frame almost fabbed up... still need to skin it,,, still working out the jamb with the hinge pockets,, i think i came up with something that should work,, no pics,,,,,camera was dead,,,, i will have an update very soon...
I'd heard that the car is actually done, been done for nearly three weeks...and that you're just leading people on and that you're going to surprise the whole car world and debut the Telstar at the KKOA Leadsled Spectacular in Salina, Kansas, the end of next month...I look forward to seeing it there... R-
Honestly Dude,, I hated that you cut up a shoebox to do this. I hated just about everyone of your previous steps, especially at the begining. I was thinkin this thing is just gonna be an ugly pile of ****. After all the mockups and adjustments, I was wrong. Its gonna be great looking car! Now lock the door and leave the phone in the house and get to welding! Lets see the finished product!
he can work magic ..... he did a job on my front-end and now it's my avatar ...here is the pic he started with .. he works miracles ...
JamesD is a master of photoshop, he did my '46. absolutely amazing work. kustom777 your work looks great and is paying off as well. keep it up.
hahaha,,,,,nobody wishes that more than i do,,,, i'm shootin for the roundup '11. . . (definitely won't be completely finished by then, but i'm hoping to have it there in whatever stage it's in at the time) currently workin on the jambs and doors,,,, i'll post more progress pics when it actually looks like a door,, this is the most difficult part of the build for me so far,,,but i am making progress.........
coming VERY soon,,,,,,,,, chomping at the bit to get back on it,,, just waiting for a few things to happen,,, sooooooooon,,,,very soon,,,,
Looks great, JamesD is the man, he put some perfect scallops on my Caddy....I wish getting it done was that cheap!
Man! I sure would like to see this at the 2011 Long Beach Motorama. Perfect candidate for the Showcase of Kustoms. Hope you can do that, Jim.
