Why it matters in Ca. : Yes, it's about post 65' cars, but we also own/ drive newer ones ? IF passed, we will no longer need to smog 35 years and older cars, ( rolling date). Leno argued thess cars are still a part of automotive history, being a small fraction of cars driven Ca, asnd only sparingly.
    Onward, Art.

Reading the fine print, you will find that in order to be exempt, the car must be insured as a collector car. This will discourage any old beater pickups and such from still polluting.

  4. The collector car insurance will in most cases limit the vehicle mileage/usage somewhat.

How can you California guys lobby your legislators to support this, if it's something you want to support?

This bill requires collector car insurance with its inherent mileage restriction for 1975 and older cars, that don't have that restriction now. That's not good. The 1976 to 1990 can have those restrictions. The collector car insurance mandate didn't have to be a part of this. Friends say ahhh big deal..we don't drive old cars that much anyway. I think once a car is categorized as a collector car, future restrictions could follow. No thanks.

I will be shocked if it happens. CARB is a billion-dollar pure profit industry for the state of Kalifornia.
CARB will probably send some thugs to Leno's shop Fine him $$$$ and Impound his cars and destroy them

It’s odd, they want to now affect pre76 vehicles as well? Why couldn’t they just do a 25/35 year rolling date.
