Yea like Jay Leno has time to **** around on a message board. He actually WORKS on his cars.......novel idea.
.....and about that Dennis Gage guy. He is actually an extremely intelligent person. That guy could be the CEO of any company with the brain he has but he is such a frikkin car nut that he is putting himself as deep into the hobbie as any of you guys ever have or ever will. As far as the mustache goes, he will never cut it off - he is the inspiration for the little mustached man on the Pringles potato chips can, true story. Sure he's a little ****y but he has done more for this car hobbie than most of you ever will. Plus he's a nice guy, that's more than I could say for myself.
i've heard that leno banks the tonight show money and lives on earnings from stand-up comedy gigs. as for dennis gage, wouldn't it be a hoot to pair him with barry (mr. car wax) meguiar on a show? now that would be high-energy!
I can't stand the talking mustache on that show! Even on mute its hard not to change the channel, he does get to see some sweet cars tho.
There was an article in Octane magazine that describes all the work Jay Leno had done to the Blastolene car after he bought it. It was a ton of stuff involving transmission, fuel systems, brakes and suspension and he turned it from an amazing concept car into a reliable driver.
I saw that car at GoodGuys Pleasanton several years ago,....It's really impressive ! I believe that was right before Jay bought it. The workmanship is exquisite !!! 4TTRUK
I think Leno is probably a decent guy. Probably even a "real gear head" that gets his hands dirty. But man, he has some strange taste.
Update, Hemmings has done a couple features, most recently was on his 7 Litre '65 Ford Galaxie. Very nice road car tho not exactly HAMB friendly...
Well since the thread is already bumped, anyone seen this thing yet? Much um... more raw and sketchy.
did the information become invalid? most of the cars we like are 45 to 85 yrs. old. seem like almost any thread could be brought back up and people will find it interesting.
If you started a new thread on this car you would get criticized for "not using the search feature". If you comment an old thread you get criticized for "dragging up an old thread". ......it's a HAMB thing......
