JB is one of mans greatest inventions! iv'e used it for.... repair broken in half cordless drill grip, damns and dividers in intake manifolds, glued the broken butt welds between 2 steel pieces of window mechanism in an ot dd, repair broken plastic grilles and fiberglass center consoles and plastic interior trim pieces, broken mounting ear on aluminum bellhousing, seal a leaking fitting inside a hot tub, seal leaking well plugs in q-jet 4 bbl. etc, etc, etc.

I had an OT truck several years ago and ended up breaking the steering wheel in some offroad activities. Being broke but brave, I removed that Ford wheel and installed a Chevy truck wheel in its place. This is where manufacturers become important - chevy wheels are splined; ford wheels had a single keyway. The wheel nut wouldn't stay tight, so I mixed JB Weld and used it for threadlocker.

It worked well for me for a year until I sold the truck and at least two years longer for the next owner. But I do not recommend this use, and am now more cautious in where I use the JB Weld.

I have cussed it..burned it... ground it off...just so I could fix the project properly by welding it. JB weld may have it's place but not everyplace.

I had an electric window in an OT New Yorker that used a piece of rubber to couple the motor the rest of the crank mechanism. When I took it apart, I found it in several pieces. I filled the void with JBW and it lasted at least until my mother in law sold the car 3 years later.

I'm going to do the same thing with an old refrigerator vacuum pump later this week.

I was hired to drive my '50 Buick in the "The Last Ride", a movie about the last few days of Hank Williams Sr. life. The cadillac they rented for Hank was a POS. We were pouring gallons of tranny fluid in it every time it stopped. I hauled it to my shop and found the rear transmission housing was broken in two places. I gooped it up with JB and a hose clamp and it worked for the rest of the movie. Everyone needs to see this movie as it goes nationwide in a couple of months.

Punched a hole the size of a dime in one of the Pontoons on our Pontoon Boat.
Little JB Weld held in place with duct tape, 3 years later still no issues or leaks.

I used JB Weld to repair Boat power head, bad frozen head bolt repair gone bad! It is really amazing, see my article at the following page. I was hoping JB WEld would feature it on their website ...but nothing yet.

Well hell... Guess I need to try my luck with it... my boy's got a dirtbike with a small hole in the case where the chain broke, then bound up and cracked it... I was going to split the cases and have it welded... but this sounds so much easier...

Mixed up a wad of it and used it to form the mouthpiece for a conch shell horn I made in high school.

A FNG's first post. They're good at dredging up old threads for an intro.

I stumbled onto an article about the uses of WD-40 and was floored. Who knew you spray it on an achy joint to temporarily ease pain?
