Hello all. Been awhile since posting but I have been working pretty hard the last week on the '54 Club Coupe. I'm ready for power steering hoses/lines. If anyone here has used the Cherokee p/s box, what hoses or lines did you use. The power steering pump is a GM type but I don't know what size the fittings are for the pressure and return lines.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks in addvance.

Many of the Jeep steering boxes were made by Saginaw as was the GM power steering pump. I don't think it would be too hard to find a GM hose that would fit. Back before Chrysler acquired Jeep the word Jeep stood for Just Everybody else's parts, Gm, Chrysler, Borgwarner transmissions, Ford starter motors and ignitions, Gm V6 engines, you get the image......

Your in So Cal this should be ez. Any reputable hose shop can do this. I use Mesa Hose in Costa Mesa. They also have the adapter fittings to change from metric to earlier US threads which we used on our race car. Most know the threads used on pumps and boxes.

Really the only hose you need to worry about is the pressure hose, it needs to be able to stand up to 900psi. The return hose won't see much pressure at all so if you needed to shorten the return hose cut it and then use a clamp. Here where I live the local NAPA store makes pressure hoses for all sorts of farm equipment that will withstand 3000 psi so they could make something up no problem. There are hose shops like Jimmy six suggested as well.

Thanks nosford. There is a large NAPA store nearby but they probably don't get much farm equipment.

But they still may make up hoses. Won't hurt to check. If not, they may know some one who does.
