I like the darker blue too . I'm not really worried about showing a motor either , but an opposing color really helps the engine bay "pop" & look cleaner when you do .

Thanks to the guys at B&D Hotrods for letting me help them pull my motor.

Elturo, do you have any more pics of the frame with the engine out. Curious to see how the motor mounts are setup. Also would like to see the engine side mount if possible.

Gotta agree with geemann51, its gonna be sweet.

It's been about 3months since I've done anything to the shoe. Talk about lack of motivation. I was overwhelmed after picking it up from Jeff's 6mo ago. I thought to myself.. "wtf did I get myself into". Parked it in the garage and covered it.
I'm sure no one has ever gone through that phase.... anyway...
So here we go again. Got the car over to my friends shop (B&D HotRods) to get the rebuilt motor in and get some fab work done. New goal. Pistons and Paint..

Got the new motor mounts in - the motor mocked up and started on the tunnel fab.

Glad to see you back on it Art! I got side tracked on my shoebox project too. Iv'e been helpng a friend of mine get his model A finished up and getting my fastback ready for Salina. After I get back I have vowed to get the sideglass and windwings finished, But Herman is going to do the headliner this week so at least I'm headed in then right direction.(like yours it has sat stagnant for three months). I'm anxious to
see your car since the chop and hope all is going well with the drivetrain install. Paint next? BUCKD

Is the whole "peanut" of the trans tunnel removable? Did you have to modify it all the way back to the rear pan? Thanks

Cool car for sure! I'll be the first to admit sometimes life and other projects get in the way of making progress. You just have to keep the faith and fuel the fire every once in awhile. These cars never go out of style so if it takes a year or 20 it's all good.

Now keep in mind this is only an opinion....your car is rounded and smooth with many compound curves that give the car it's custom look. Do you really want to add on, and it will look like and add on, long sharp edged squarish scoop that will detract from the overall sexy roundness you have already?

If you must have a scoop it should at least match the rest of the car...maybe hand formed to make it less instead of more.:)

It's been a little over a month and still working on the hood.
    I lose interest real fast.
(the scoop thing was just a joke)

Thanks for the positive words. Your exactly right.. Life and other projects just keeping getting in the way. Next thing I know.. there went another week with nothing accomplished. I really hope this doesn't turn into a 20 project... that would make me 60.

For what it's worth I bought a 50 Ford Sedan 10 years ago with every intention of chopping it. I even had Hub Harness lined up at one point but that fell thru. So after I lowered it and fixed a few things I've just been driving it. But one of these days..........
