couldn't agree more. The car corral was almost empty this year, vendors seemed way down and it was the first time in years I literally left empty handed. Tried to buy a set of dented and mangled 348 valve covers for a motor project to use to paint the longblock and the guy wanted $85 and wouldn't budge on the price even a buck! Might be time to start p***ing on Jefferson and looking for other swap events

I had a great day at Jefferson on Saturday. I sold my 1949 Buick roadmaster with in an hour of arriving. It was the best $50 bucks I have spent in along time.

...went up on Friday, had a great time, the weather was great ; I wasn't really lookin for anything in particular, so that made it very much more enjoyable.
Didn't see a lot of deals being made, I only spent $2.00 not counting lunch.
I thot there were a lot of good old parts available, I just have too much "stuff" now.
...anybody see that chromed out snowblower?...that was different.

I skipped it this weekend because it was supposed to rain. Went to the Duck tail instead. Found 300 worth of New stuff for sons OT for 80 dollars. Saved enough to pay for my hotel room. Last three times it either rained or was real cold.

Went up friday and found a couple of things. There were some good deals but nothing I needed. I had been looking for a pair of hubcaps all summer long and finally found a pair of Desotos and a pair of Olds. Great price on them compared to Iola and Spring Jefferson and every other swap I had been to in the last year. I even scored a 6 carb intake and looked at a 32 5 window on the way home. Can't beat a great day like that even if I did not get home till 3:30 am saturday. LOL

Nice! I got you beat tho, I sold my O/T Lincoln within 10 minutes of arriving. I'm not sure if I got my $50 worth of car corral exposure or not! :D

I also had good luck selling, unloaded the 26 Ford in my avatar and sold it within 1hr. I also delivered it to Milwaukee for the buyer. I was hoping to sell or trade the Harley bagger next to it that I also brought, but had to load it all and run with the cash for the roadster!!

MY 15 year old sonand I Arrived Fri. at 1:00 and weather held out for a while until afternoon, and it started raining. Went into Fort for Food at Salamone's came back and spent the night in the truck. Sat weather was nice enough and Sunday was ok also. My son did well haulling parts, made about 150.00 on Sat. I sold any thing worth selling on Sat and sat around Sun. until about 1:00 I've doing Jefferson for 20 years and had one of my best selling years this year, I sold most of the stuff I had in the rain in the spring. if you have gone to Jefferson for more than a year you know Rain gear is almost a must. I remember the year it snowed Sat afternoon and was 65-70 degrees Sunday what a mess.

I saw your car and the crowd that gathered. I had interest, but so did the others and that meant there was no way I could get a deal. Did you have to through Karen in with the car?:D

And I bought a damn cool Lincoln that is about as HAMB friendly as a 77 Lincoln could be. Had to pay FULL price, but the time/thought into the mods was worth it. And for $50, you got full price and a chance to meet me. What could be better:D

I took three cars to sell and sold one P.O.S. to Country Cl***ics for a break-even. THANK YOU, Russ!!!!

I agree, poor participation in the car corral and the swap spaces were not even all filled. With the forecast sounding so bleak and money so tight, I don't blame those for chosing not to attend. I did not see much money changing hands in the car corral. Thankfully, the asking prices were very high, so my cars look inexpensive!

Did any of you see that little roadster hotrod that pulled in this morning. Some kinda Bonneville tribute car I guess. $25000.

Normal Jefferson for me, mostly post '72 Chevy stuff and lots of after market dealers. I went Saturday and I didn't find anything that I needed for the '37 Buick. There were parts from that era here and there but not much. Talked with a guy who was selling a '48 Ford truck, I wasn't interested in buying it but just talked with him for about 45 minutes. Best part of the day for me.

went Friday w/my bro & a young lady boy named Max.
found some cool hub caps, had fun. Always have fun.
Ran into some old friends, bought some books & some flatty water pumps from HAMB Vendor "The Hot Rod Company" Mike. It was fun overall on the hole.

Illinoise HAMBERS...when is the next Grays Lake?

Wish I could have been there. The one BIG thing I miss are the swapmeets out here in AZ. A horrible Jefferson is 1000 times better than the best swap out here. A good swap meet in Arizona takes about 45 to see the entire thing.

It was nice to meet you, and thanks for paying FULL price. I don't know why some people think everything is gold. I price to sell. I look forward to seeing you around Bob. Thanks for making my garage seem so much BIGGER.....:D

perhaps many people were like me this year.....since the Ducktail Run only happens once a year - and Jefferson happens twice...

just skip the fall Jefferson and be sure to hit it in Spring

the Jefferson in spring will be the week before Torque Fest so I hope the rain will dump on Jefferson and not the Fest!

Our show is rain or shine though - just like Jefferson!

Seeya in Jefferson in Spring time babies!

Karen came home with me along with the cash from the sale. The buyer is happy with the price and so were we. It is a very nice driving Buick

I went Sunday AM and thought it was pretty thin all over. I actually saw quite a bit of HAMB- friendly stuff there. Just nothing for my '33 Olds.I found a pair of odd-looking semi-truck marker-lights that might make cool tailights for the Olds for $4.

Sorry I missed you Bobwop. You didn't answer your cell phone when I was there. Nice to meet Nick though.

Here's a beef I have about swap meets lately...I have been selling at 6-7 meets a year around the Chicago area for 15 yrs' or so. More and more, I see sellers packing up and leaving before noon and even 11:00! And people are still paying to get in. Some of the sellers at Jeff. didn't bother to come out Sunday. That makes it bad for the promoter and everyone who pays for their hobby this way. Not to mention buyers who travel hundreds of miles to get there. Actually, I wasn't going to even come up there until I made a deal to sell some tires to Bob. Still better than sitting around watching a bunch of millionaires play with a ball though.
