has anyone used the summit or jegs brand rod or main bearings, lowest price.......from the description given they the KING BRAND made in ISRAEL which are sold often on ebay ????......in this tough economy, every dollar counts....this a a sbc street rod motor that will never see 5,000 rpm or 6'000 miles.......i'm too old.....thanks for any input, charlie.......
I've got about 75k on a rering kit from northern autoparts that came with rods and mains at a more then friendly price. That's in the 79 350 that is in my 71 GMC 3/4 ton. The engine still runs strong and it was a 100K + engine to begin with when my son totaled the Elkie. They also sell name brand bearings for a good price.
If they are advertising the bearings as being "King Bearings", they are a very good bearing.... However; I would be nervous of anything that comes in a plain white box, if that is the case...
I agree with using Northern Auto Parts. Great stuff for a great price. Alot of their Chevy smallblock stuff that comes in a generic white box is made by TRW.
