Fender patches and rockers next week. Button a few things up and hit the road the
13th! I think she's more excited than I am. That makes me one happy hot rodder/husband!

Yep. Gonna be carpet covered. Works great. Put a nylon bushing on the rod and grooved the back of the pedal. Pretty proud of what she's done on this one. Truth be told, I started out hating these cars. Still think they're homely. But she loves 'em. Good size, room for kids and their stuff. Plenty of power from the 302/C4 combo. Updated brakes and rearend. I bet it's on the road all summer!

It just put the pedal where it needed to be.

  11. Looks like Jenny is doing real well. I trust you are doing more than pointing and sucking suds.

Tell her I think she is doing real well.

I rallied the troops for Sunday. Quite a few Nightmars and a few other friends (GM trained techs like old Fords, too!) are converging on Mac Donald Ave to get Jen's Shoe on the road. It's to the point wher it's nickel and diming us to death. I need radiator hoses, courage and a case of motivation along with some electrical guys. It should fire up and drive with her behind he wheel. I can't wait!

Btw....the Slovak pucks are made from a harder rubber than the Cunucks use. Use the Canadian pucks for trams mounts, radiator mounts.....wherever some movement is needed.

Went Sunday to check a car with my brother (post on that later....YEAH!) so the 'Box sat. Ended up with a bum ignition switch. Swapped that out today. Screwed around with timing and Jenny hit the key to hear it run for the 1st time. Now it's time to screw around with her......

Got her car running well and took it for a spin or two....No exhaust, no interior 'cept the front seat. Crappy lookin' 1/2 painted. Uglier than hell but it runs great, stops, steers and put a smile on both our faces. Made The best Sunday Ever even better!....Now let's go look for that green Chevy for a race.

Couple small things tied up tonight. License plate light, tail lights and courtesy lights figured out. Sheetmetal around the steering column on firewall trimmed and installed. Raining hard now so I came in. Exhaust appt Wed. Patches should be here soon. Paint will be done by Sins of Steel.

She finished the rear seat today. Meanwhile, Jen texted me while I was working just to tell me it still runs great! Back seat and seatbelts in. Today, headlights, taillights, the switches that make them work. My exhaust shop appt got put off due to a broken tubing bender. Damn!

  22. sounds like progress. Did you make the show? I would have liked to have gone, but I'm slumming down here in the Keys

Gas pedal looks real grippy, brake pedal not so much. I'd hate to jam on the brakes with a pair of wet shoes on that one!

    Nice progress though.

Couple pics from yesterday's festivities. Door and rear trim panels made from luan. Nice and flexible. She's been shopping for appropriate material to cover them in. Back bumper is on. Hopefully bodywork can start this weekend!

Got it back from the muffler shop today after 4 (!) days. Got the manifold to muffler pipes done. Guy claimed their bender couldn't do a tight enough bend for tailpipes. Guess I'll have to do it myself. Sure sounds good, though! Tomorrow, Jen will learn about rocker panel installation (not replacement; that would require that the car has them in the first place!).

Trunk floor done. Kirk's comin' over to help finish wiring. Then, I'll drive it to his garage and we do fender patches and get it straight for paint.
