    I believe Edelbrock bought the design rights for their carb from whoever owned Carter.

    Not only did Edelbrock buy the design rights from Federal-Mogul but FM continued to build both brands on the same ***embly line with components purchased from the same suppliers. It was/is a win/win relationship for both companies.

    Then how come all three of mine have WEBER USA and Magnetti Morelli cast in the bodies? Are there different sources?

    I'm sure the whoever cast the bodies had different inserts in the tooling to allow the different brands.

    You get what you pay for. Clive builds a very high quality part for the guys that demand the best and can afford it. The original Stromberg will out last the Speedway unit because of the base material and workmanship.
