After getting everything clean Koz and I got the frame and suspension done. Nice boxing plates purchased from metalfaber on here too. Frame boxed, X member in. Custom hurst style engine mount and rear wishbone tie rod plate fabbed.

Rear crossmember was flattened, middle straightened for 40 rear spring, and relocated for proper rear end placement

I shot some Olds gold on the wheels for some inspiration. It's paint from Eastwood which I've never used before but was pleased how nice it flowed.

Used two old stainless oxygen tanks to make up a fuel tank. Filler neck, bottom bung, and some feet for mounting

I used some F-1 upper shock mounts to make up a set of shock mounts for my rear

I scored a rusty but mostly complete 31 roadster from a buddy. I went on it with another buddy who got the rolling A ch***is and I got the body

I braced everything up and cut the rear subrails so the body would drop down over the kick up and started replacing some rusty panels

The interesting thing is that I set everything up on the ch***is originally to drop a 32 pickup cab on so the frame was not pinched up front like I did for my last roadster. The 31 body actually fits pretty nice up front despite the lack of pinch, but I wasn't able to drop the front down and do a mini channel. I'll try to get a better pic of this tomorrow

Scored some cool guages out of a 50's boat at a local swap meet a couple weeks ago and cleaned them up. Started figuring out a dash too

I'm too cheap to spend $175 for a decklid skin so I made my own and then louvered it.

Last weekend I made and installed the subrails and floor pans. A friend bought a rear subrail kit that someone makes to do his a couple years back and I made templates of everything, which came in handy.

Starting to look like a car

Jerry: Awesome progress on your newest ride! I meant to stop down with you, but had my lower back go out instead. Just now back on my feet. That "A" sure has a good vibe brewing!

I'd hardly call that body "rusty", looks lik a cream puff to me, but it's turning out great, I love the boat gauages, I honestly can't see a single aspect of this build I don't like, it's right on the money.

My inspiration for this one. No windshield, half tonneau cover, maybe an aluminum louvered hood. Not sure on color... Might change out my whitewalls to black walls... The car will tell me what it wants. Haha

Had a bit of time this afternoon so I mounted my tail lights. These originally went on a housing not a flat panel so I had to make some small tabs to hold the light flush that I welded in after cutting the holes
