It didn't sell at $135,000 so now the seller has relisted it at $139,000.

With all the attention it's gotten here it's now even more famous and therefore worth an extra $4000!

Another thing that it would appear that a great number of you are missing is that this car was built by a shop, for someone.

Many of you claim that you could build it cheaper. Well, have at it.

Most of you cannot afford to have things built for you, and that is fine. Not everyone wants to, and that is fine.

All shops have a bill rate, in man-hours.

If it takes three workers 4-months to build a car like this, that's 2080 man-hours.

Multiply that by any shop rate you want, and it is a big number.

At just $75/man-hour, that labor alone would be $156,000.00. Maybe it was fewer hours. Maybe it was fewer people. Either way, it was a ton of money, and that's just the labor.

From the Austin Speed Shop website, their hourly rate is $110/hr.

Just 2 employees, working just 6-hours-a-day, for 45-business-days is almost $60,000, in just labor.

Do the math for any combination you want.

Just because you cannot afford it doesn't mean that someone else cannot.

Don't tell me you don't think something is not worth the asking price, because you don't have that kind of money to spend.

It is worth what it sells for, and that remains to be seen. If the current owner decides to keep it, it is worth what they paid for it.

    Not a cent less.

I’m wondering if Paul Sr. And JJ add any provenance to it.

I doubt it. But having my name attached to it sure does.
