The Merc is being finished at the South Austin Speed Shop as we speak. Could already be done, for all I know.
I don't think it was on Monster Garage. Not every car he owns was on that show....

just watched most of the vehicles go across the block..
Cheap for the names attached to them, most in the 6-8 thousand dollar range.
The notable exceptions, the "rat rod" p.u.-15000
    the tractor puller jeep -19000
    the diesel trike -23000
the close camera work showed that most were 20 footers . quick thick paint, and of course, a quick build.

  5. Does anyone know what the 67 chevy impala went for? It was the car they built at folsom prison. Just curious.

Only about 10 cars were auctioned off tuesday night from monster garage. The website shows the impala will be auctioned off on saturday.

Love the classic design, but the location of the hydrogen tank makes me nervous about the center of gravity (c.g.) being so far aft the liner could have handling problems because either there is no separation between the c.g. and the center of pressure, or the c.g. is actually behind the center of pressure. Think of trying to shoot an arrow feathers first (or throw a dart fins first). I'd look at using two hydrogen tanks, one on either side of the car between the front and rear wheels.

    that's a carbon-fiber wrapped hydrogen tank. 5000+ psi

You can see the Quantum sticker on it: http://www.qtww.com/products/haft/hydrostorage.php

It's a hydrogen burner, not a hybrid. The piston engine is the only motor.

I see the Monster Garage '54 Ford wagon that sold at Barrett Jackson for $13,000 was just re-sold on eBay for $25,960 after getting 53 bids.

Never met the man but IMHO - Jesse would do what Jesse does whether he got famous or not.

Stuff like Monster Garage is just someone paying insane money for his "doodles" on a cocktail napkin. Doodles are just artistic stretches to clear your head and develop ideas. He's having some fun and getting paid.

You can tell the difference in the stuff he really cares about and builds for himself. The money just allows him to better do that.

The Folsom Impala is now in Austin. I was parked next to it at the Dog n' Duck last night. Guy that owns it is a dealer. Not sure, but probably looking to flip it...

It sold for 12,500 and it's now on eBay for $25k/obo

  22. I always enjoyed the slightly cracked, slightly wacked ideas of the cars, it was a fun show to watch.

  23. Yea I want one. I'd prefer that it didn't come from jesse though. Just not my game.

So what someone is trying to say is that jesse is auctioning off his junk? its gotta be junk because good stuff you don't have to auction.
