This is the late Jim Mcfall’s (Mcfall’s Auto Trim Iowa City, Iowa) 1935 Ford Sedan Delivery It was built in 1969 and first shown at the 1970 Detroit Autorama. After showing it at ISCA car shows Jim drove it to many Street Rod Nationals and rod runs throughout 1970’s and early 1980’s The driveline is a 301 Chevrolet with 4 speed transmission and a Chevy rear end. It has full custom pearl white vinyl interior featuring custom made floating seats, button tufted headliner, wrap around rear panel, and a light panel that flashed with the beat of the stereo. The paint is Dearborn blue lacquer by Phil Buland of Mendota Customs in Mendota Illinois The lettering and pinstriping was done by Carob (Bob Butterly) Des Moines Iowa. This rod is a real time capsule with very few changes since it was originally built. It originally had a dual quad cross ram intake that was replaced with a single four barrel when Jim and his family started to drive it to rod runs (Jim and his wife Joy with all three kids in the back). The steering wheel was replaced with a Firebird wheel in the late 1970’s. A custom hand cut rear door glass was also added around the same time. It has survived very well over the last 50 years having always been stored in a heated garage. The interior is in excellent condition. The paint is shiny with no lacquer cracking or crazing. There is, however, some rock chips and small scratches. There a couple of small dents on the lower rear pan. The bottom front of the right rear fender near the running board has a small spot blistered from rust. It was last driven in 1983. We have not tried to start it (no battery). It will probably need the typical fuel system and brake servicing that vehicles having been stored for a while require.
