Can anyone add comment? Been to his shop seen him run?? Have photos The father of drag chutes & other innovations I grew up in Chicago and went Oswego Raceway and had no clue about California Drags except Pomona
If you grew up around here you knew about Champion Speed Shop and Jim McLennan. I ran at Half Moon Bay, Fremont and Brisbane. Ted Gotelli drove for Jim before opening his own shop and building his own car, Bacca is still across the street from the old Champion Speed Shop. Which was later Andy Brizios Instant T store. He was at the center of what ever happened around here for years.
Thanks Rich Can anyone else add to this? Grand Spalding Dodge/ Nicky Chevrolet Oswego Raceway/ U.S 30 Skips Fiesta my dads old drive in close to Skips And for parts J.C. Whitney are what got me interested in this hobby Maybe someone has pix of the McLennan shop or rails Mr. McLennan sounds like one very interesting gentleman And a true credit to the sport of drag racing
